Meridian Street Café & Bar — Restaurant in Nashville-Davidson

I came at noon on a Thursday. It was pretty empty, so service was prompt. Seat yourself at one of 12 tables or 6 hi tops.

The decor is modern industrial, with a cleaned up jook joint vibe. It actually used to be a motorcycle club of questionable character, so that's probably why. Shiny corrugated steel sheets cover the walls interspersed with faux brick columns. Bright spotlights and large windows provide plenty of light. Smooth R&B played over the sound system, but it was one of the server's phone. I had said that I would come back just for the music, but now I gotta check the schedule first! LOL!

I ordered grilled pork chops, eggs over medium, home potatoes and a biscuit. The eggs were perfect, the chops well seasoned and the biscuit straddled the line between filling and dense. The chops were thin, so don't expect a thick juicy cut of meat The home potatoes were bland- no seasoning, onions or green peppers. Just a little risk in the kitchen could push the potatoes from blah to good. Overall, the food was satisfactory, but nothing I need to repeat.

Signs advertise happy hour from 11-1 and 4-7 with drink and appetizer specials. They also have karaoke on Wednesday and trivia on Thursday nights. This may be a better a place to have a drink after work, than to come for food. I'll come back and let you know...

We had a party of 6, we all arrived by 1055 am at the latest we received our food at 1235 pm, several guests from dine-in to the to-go orders had recieved their food prior to us and had left. We remained as patient as possible but something just didn't add up of why we hadn't recieved our order. Finally things began coming out some had to wait a few more minutes to recieve their order but the real issue came when we were eating the waiter return to let one of the party members know her shrimp and grits would be right out, she advised the waiter she no longer needed them as she had finished half of her meal, well 20 minutes later the waiter still brings out the grits. This is where the huge problem begins, the party member reminder the waiter that she didn't want the grits and the waiters responds with "well what y'all need to understand" the entire table lost it with being flabbergasted and immediately requested the manager. The customer service was terrible, the fact the the party member having the issue travel in from TX due to a family death and the 1st place she wanted was Meridian St Cafe, the food tasted fine but the service provided from the waiter and other staff was HORRIBLE!!! DISAPPOINTING is an understatement. We waited 50 minutes for our food after ordering, and 30 minutes for our check after asking.

What did we wait for? THE MOST BASIC BREAKFAST FOOD THIS SIDE OF THE MISSISSIPPI. Please refer to the picture included to see the probably microwaved sausage, and the overall average selection. It would probably take me 15 minutes to cook this food in my undersupplied AirBnb kitchen. To add insult to injury, sit and watch them churn out grubhub orders as their in store customers are left hungry and confused. Every customer today shared this experience, pleasd enjoy the image attached of another table who had to also wait an hour for their food, they ended up leaving before their food came out. Notice the starved expressions on their face. The worst part of the visit was the fact that nobody was apologetic at all, as if this type of service is normal. AND IT PROBABLY IS NORMAL, because a service charge is included on any table...
