We were in there on Fri Aug 5th @2:45-3 in afternoon. Walked in..maybe 15 people at the most in there. Found a table sat down..waited waited..finally I said maybe were supposed to order at the bar. Went up placed order..2 orders fish chips, order of onion rings..tea, water. Had just been released from hospital after surgery..so unfortunately no beer for me. Again ordered at bar...bartender asked me if I wanted to close my tab out. Yes I did..was eating not drinking. Came to little over $43.00 dollars..$5.00 which personally I thought was generous, considering all she did was write down the order. I took our drinks to the table..I got up grabbed a bottle of ketchup..refilled my own water. The cook is the one that served the food. We really did enjoy the food..hit the spot. I asked the guy if he cooked the food he said he had. I told him next time I come in...he'll get the tip not the bartender. I work in the food and beverage and have for 50 years..and it just griped my ass thatbI tipped someone for absolutely doing nothing..except write the order and run my card. Which she was supposed to close. Apparently they have a policy if you leave your tab open they'll add 20% gratuity. BUT REMEMBER...I told her I was closing my tab as I signed at the bar. So imagine how surprised I was when I was looking at my bank account and saw an extra @$5 more added to the bill. Unacceptable..I will be contacting the restaurant and hopefully the owner Mr. O'Leary. I want my money back that she padded on my bill. It's not about the few bucks it's about the principal. How many people has she done this too that don't notice it. So she got almost 10 bucks for not doing a damn thing. I'm a restaurant manager and server. I've worked all aspects of the restaurant..front and back. And NEVER in 50 years have I ever taken advantage of the customer or their debit/credit card...smh. Seriously it pisses me off...it's theft. And I work hard for my money as I'm sure the people there do as well. But never to pad or take advantage of the customer. Again I did enjoy the food and I will be back and as I said before the bartender will not get the tip..but I'll definitely tip the cook,chef/server! So keep an eye out on your debit or credit card whatever you might use at the moment. Thank...
Read moreGotta say, the jury is still out on this one for me. I have had quite a few lunches and brunches there which have all been great. The venue is large and has decent parking which is great. They have games and table, great TVs, and very nice bar downstairs and the brunch menu is good. Beer selection is great, service dining in - friendly and quite responsive.
My take-out experiences have been quite the reverse. First time I had a craving for a burger, and when I got home the serving of fries was absurdly small, like count them on 2 hands small. I posted an annoyed comment on a local FB page and was pleasantly surprised when someone responded and said they would make it up, that the remembered me and to please give them another try.
So I gave them another try. Burger and fries, given a pickup time, got there, not ready. Ignored by front staff, had to go ask, and every time an order was ready for pickup I had to go up and ask them to check. Person was on their phone the whole time. 25 minutes later the order comes out, they don't even look at it, so I go up to check the label, the barman comes up and asks what I am doing and what my name is, and says yes you can take it, and walked off, no thanks. The person in the front never looked at me once. No apologies for the late service.
The service was so bad and disrespectful I actually wondered if they recognized the name and did it on purpose for my FB comment, in which case why ask me to give them another chance? I have not been back since, see no reason why I would at this point, overall just left with a very bad taste in my mouth. Pity, the burger was actually pretty good, the fried the second time were a decent serving and the brunches are good. I just have no reason to expect better...
Read morebeen here twice this year, but doubt i'll be back.
cool atmosphere and plenty of tvs, so i ordered a hap & harry's. slugged it down and decided to see the 2nd half at a less crowded place.
got my tab; $10 for one beer! seriously?! beyond the edge, 3 crow bar, tenn sixteen, red door saloon; they're all across the street, run happy hour specials several times a week, and i can get a hap & harry's for half that price.
got my tab; $5 for a coors light. maybe i don't understand this place, the culture or atmosphere, or when they offer happy hours (or when they unexpectedly cancel them), but i'm trying to like noble's. right now, i've got a bad taste in my mouth, and i'll tell others to head across the street. not competitive with surrounding spots = one star off. rude service = one star off. cancelled happy hour = one star off. two...
