Dining at Pastis was nothing short of exceptional. From start to finish, the experience was a delightful mix of flavor, atmosphere, and hospitality.
We began the evening with cocktails, and the Lady Marmalade stood out as a highlight. This creative blend of blanco tequila and French orange marmalade struck the perfect balance—bright, citrusy, and just the right amount of boozy. It set the tone for a memorable night.
For starters, the tuna carpaccio was delicate yet packed with flavor—so good, I’d happily order two next time. The deviled eggs were surprisingly refined, with a silky yolk mixture that elevated a classic dish. The crispy artichoke was a standout. Unlike the usual preparation, this was the bottom half of the artichoke—flattened and perfectly crisp on the outside, while the heart remained tender and creamy. Paired with a lemony aioli that added just the right amount of zing, it was a unique and delicious start that set the bar high for the rest of the meal.
The escargot, though on the milder side, was still a comforting, buttery bite that rounded out the appetizers nicely. Just a little bland.
For the main course, I had the filet frites. The steak was tender and beautifully complemented by a rich au poivre sauce. While the fries were the classic thin style, the accompanying dipping sauce gave them an irresistible twist.
But what truly made the night unforgettable was our server. Warm, witty, and effortlessly charming, he brought the entire evening to life. Even when a drink was accidentally spilled, he handled it with grace and generosity—offering complimentary cocktails and a decadent dessert to make up for it. (Honestly, he can spill drinks anytime if it means another round of those Lady Marmalades!)
Speaking of dessert—the Profiteroles were an absolute dream. Think mini French ice cream sandwiches: crisp pastry, creamy filling, and a perfect sweet finish.
I’d return weekly for the vibrant ambiance, consistently excellent food, and service that goes above and beyond. Pastis in Nashville truly delivers on every front....

You know when something is so good you want to write home about it? Well, Pastis is exactly that — a fantastic addition to the Nashville dining scene.
Nashville isn’t typically known for French cuisine, but Pastis is helping to change that. It’s only been open a couple of months, and it’s already tough to snag a reservation. We took our chances as walk-ins and arrived a little before opening — and thankfully, they were able to squeeze us in.
Our server, Emma, was an absolute sweetheart — charming, attentive, and made us feel right at home.
To start, we ordered a glass of red wine and an espresso martini. My husband actually preferred my martini because it wasn’t overly sweet (a win in my book!). He also really enjoyed his red blend.
For appetizers, we shared: • Escargot – classic and satisfying, on par with what you’d expect from a good French restaurant. • Foie Gras – rich and indulgent, paired perfectly with their house bread. • Scallop Crudo – my husband’s favorite; the citrusy sauce really brightened the flavor of the fresh scallops.
For mains, he went with the duck confit (crispy, tender, flavorful) and I had the Bouillabaisse (a hearty seafood stew and the reason I wanted to stop in on a Friday!). Both dishes were excellent and beautifully prepared.
We finished with profiteroles — delicate cream puffs filled with ice cream and drizzled in warm chocolate sauce. A classic French dessert and the perfect sweet ending.
Best of all? We were in and out in under an hour but never felt rushed. The service, pacing, and execution were a great example of a well-oiled machine in action.
We’re already planning our next visit to try more of the menu. Pastis is a gem — if you’re looking for French fare in Nashville, this...

The food was outstanding - of the 16-18 dishes we tried for a party of 5, all but one were incredibly well prepared, flavorful, and different than the normal fare in Nashville. The service and food delivery also stood out - they coursed the food perfectly and it was always hot when it arrived, and we were never waiting for more than a minute or two for more to arrive. Standouts were the escargots, muscles, duck confit, crispy artichokes, chicken paillard. Next time will be trying one of the steaks as they looked great when passing our table.
The atmosphere was way, way too loud in there - "lively" doesn't even begin to cover it, it was deafening at times. We were also seated with 5 people at a table that might comfortable seat 3 (part of the reason they were having to course the food was because we had no room for everything on the table, but they handled it well). We were screaming at each other over this tiny table but eventually it did get a bit better when some larger parties departed.
The service at the table was excellent, both our main server and all of the assistants who never missed a beat. The bar seems to be the vibe and I've sat there a few times for drinks; all of the bartenders are excellent, friendly, and efficient. Great cocktails and a fun wine list that will make you try some things outside the norm.
Overall, great addition to...
