I don't normally write reviews, but I had one of the worst experiences at Sonny’s. I went there this past Sunday around 1pm. The place was lightly busy but not packed. The waitress may have been having to cover a larger number of tables than normal but not sure and again it was NOT overly busy. For starters, the waitress was quite rude and seemed to want to rush my group with our orders. Even to the point she was walking away from us mid-sentence, which resulted in her messing up our order. Another thing, we asked her from the beginning to split up our order and be sure to keep things separate. When we received our food, of course orders were messed up and the waitress was very rude and unapologetic about things. She did say, “Don’t worry, we’ll fix the bill so you wont be charged extra.” A buddy ordered an appetizer for the table and told the waitress 3 times “just charge the appetizer to my bill.” Of course, when it was time to pay the bill, she had no ones bills separated, and charged everyone’s non-entre items to my bill. We were able to catch the obvious mistake, but again, the waitress was upset about having to correct this. Once we split the bill, we thought correctly, we all paid. We paid through a credit card machine, so we don’t get to see the details of our bill. My wife noticed the bill still sounded kind of high and asked for a detailed receipt. Once we got the details, of course we notice the waitress never “fixed” the bill like she said she would. I asked her about it, and she was seemed fed up with it. Like it was somehow my fault that she over charged me for food I didn’t ordered. I had to ask her about the correction 3 times. Keep in mind, at this point we paid and were all trying to leave. At the end, she finally came over and gave me cash and says with an attitude, “Heres the cash. I just took it out of tips. This should make you happy.” Not sure exactly what she meant, but the whole experience was horrible. Right after this, I literally watched her go over and talk to the manager. The manager and I made eye contact as the 2 were conversing and complaining about me asking for my money for the food I never ordered. This whole experience was horrible! The atmosphere is ok but nothing great but not bad. The food isn’t that great where I’m willing to put up with this kind of treatment and behavior. And to be honest, I don’t blame the waitress so much. It should have been the manager who corrects this. Were all human and mistakes happen. It’s always about how management corrects the situation and she was aware about what was going on. I was checking this place out for a team building activity/gathering and hopes of additional gathering here for happy hour. Least to say, I’ll never be going back to this establishment and will be sure that none of my family and...
Read moreI was in here on March 16th and will never return. Here are my reasons. 1. Asked for a Crown and Sprite. It was made poorly (all we saw was Sprite in the glass). We asked the bartender about it and she acted clueless, said "that's what you asked for" and turned her back. It had to be corrected by a manager that I had to hunt down for 10 minutes. 2. As we were sitting an employee asked us had we seen a hostess about our seats and that it was a line to sit down. We knew nothing about this but our ID's were checked at the door with a wristband given as well. No one mentioned getting in line to sit down. 3. When I complained about my drink at the bar a male stated, "Oh how racist of that bartender!" No one had mentioned race but I guess since we were the only blacks in the bar he assumed we would make it a racial issue. 4. My credit card was charged twice. It seems that the bartender added her own tip since I didn't tip her after making that unsatisfactory drink. I've tried calling several times but haven't been able to reach anyone about my credit card being charged twice. This place seems like it's just meant for certain people and I definitely won't return but I would like that charge to disappear from my banking account. You can't just go adding tips yourself and you know you...
Read moreWe came here for brunch, so my opinions are strictly limited to my brunch experience:
The good things:
Staff is super awesome. Brady was helping us and wanted to give him a shout out. He was just extraordinary. Also, we took our own sweet time to finish our lazy brunch but he didn’t rush us. location is convenient, plenty of street parking available. Food comes fast. side of potatoes was really good.
Didn’t work for me: Avocado toast was really bad. Large chunks of red onions and tomatoes were on the avocado toast and the mashed avocados had lime in it. It was like a bad guacamole on toast. they didn’t have espresso. Neither did they have oat milk or soy milk or even 2% milk. Just the packaged creamer and brewed coffee was what got served to me. I understand most people go for their margarita flight for brunch but I wouldn’t completely overlook the coffee department specially during brunch hours. for avocado toast that costs $12+ I’d at least include two toasts, which is standard across all brunch places. Unless the toast is fully loaded which it was not.
Overall, it seemed like a cool place to hang out at night; the brunch scene just didn’t...
