They should call this place The Bacteria Cafeteria. I didn’t make it to front street without throwing up. I vomited for 2 days after eating at this dump. The redfish that my wife ordered was just a filet on a plate - literally a filet on a white plate and nothing else. It was cold and over cooked - oh but they charged us a King’s fare. $100 for two people to eat lunch and I will have to have my new truck shampooed because I vomited in it on the way home. If you want to get sick or possibly die, eat here. My wife left almost all of her meal on the table and the stupid waitress asked “how was everything”. Literally saw that she didn’t eat, was told that it was horrible, and she never even attempted to make it right. I am making it my mission to leave a bad review for this place anywhere I can after this. I feel like someone robbed me and then injected me with poison. I called, emailed, and messaged them With NO reply. I told someone at the chamber of commerce and they were so friendly, apologized and said “don’t let that experience be a reflection of our town” and gave me a list of restaurants that I would actually enjoy - as if they had had this conversation a million times. They take your money and they do not care if you liked it, got sick, or even call to give feedback. They take the money and run. I should have known better when I saw the “sign of rules” at the entrance. We came to Louisiana to experience their so-called “greatest food in USA” and got food they wouldn’t serve in an Irish pub in south Boston.

First time going here, read reviews and people were recommending the steak and fried shrimp. I decided to go with the Ribeye for $55.00 another person with me got the same thing. I ordered medium rare and they ordered medium. Instead of complaining we ate part of it. Mine came out rare and it was very tough. The other persons came out medium rare and was also tough. I’m not sure where people are saying these are the best steaks because the seasoning alone tasted like salt and pepper and it has no grilled flavor. I brought it up to the person behind the bar who looked like a manager and they apologized and asked if I wanted a gift card. They said it was probably due to shift change. That should not affect the way a $55 steak taste. They need to do better. I declined the gift card because I do not plan on coming back.

A really nice restaurant on Front Street just a block from the center of town. It faces the park on Cane River Lake—a nice view from a window seat. The atmosphere is quite inviting— hardwood floors and large, comfortable booths. The wait staff was attentive and friendly and answered all my questions. I had a house salad for the appetizer and the redfish cocodrie for the entree with a side of onion rings. The fish was prepared just right and the sauce was terrific. Lots of flavor. The onion rings were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside; I’ve rarely had onions rings that good! Btw, there is free street parking right outside the restaurant. In fact, all of downtown has free parking. On weekends, finding a spot can be harder, but I’ve never had to park more than two blocks from my destination.

I only gave 1 star because I had to choose at least one to comment. I would have given zero if I could’ve. The RUDEST, inconsiderate and most unprofessional restaurant people I have EVERRR dealt with in my life. The owner, Nancy Mayeaux, was the rudest of them all that I spoke with. She wouldn’t let me talk at all. She was over talking me the entire conversation and showed zero concern or interest about my situation and it had absolutely nothing to do with their food. The first girl that answered the phone, who refused to give me her name, was completely unprofessional, very arrogant and just a complete smart-aleck, impudent, brash, irreverent and just unnecessarily brassy, crass and sassy … extremely rude but not quite as much as the owner. I feel like I had a valid concern as my daughter’s car was damaged because the parking lot attendant (who claimed he worked for Mayeaux’s, and also refused to give his last name or any additional information when asked by my daughter’s boss. After a string of phone calls I did find out today that he actually does not work for Mayeaux’s but was unaware at the time.) forced my daughter to park in a parking spot where her car, or probably no car, would fit even after her telling him multiple times her car wasn’t going to fit, which resulted in the entire side of her car being scratched approximately 6-8in, possibly more, wide. My daughter was not a visitor but an employee of a neighboring business that is allowed to park there. With that being said, I would NOT recommend this business due to the atrocious customer service. No one should have to experience this treatment regardless...

When a place makes me feel welcomed from the manager who came around and talked to every table to the waitresses and even the other customers....what hospitality!!! My husband and I were in town from Houston/Katy for our son's track meet. We loved everything about the restaurant. We looked at the Google rating (as we always do for someplace new) and we were not dissapointed. We loved the casual, easy to fit in comfort of this place. We walked in and a nice waitress told us to sit where ever we wanted, and she would be with is soon. I like that because I don't always like where the hostess may sit us. Service was timely and efficient. They served complimentary bread hot enough to melt the butter. Very good and melts in your mouth. They were out of gumbo which indicates how good it is. So we had the crayfish etoufee. It was good. We split a fried seafood platter which was more than enough food for 2. Best fried oysters I have ever eaten. Everything on that platter was seasoned so well and delicious. Loved the soft shell crab. It was my hubby's first time eating that. He loved it. Also just as equally important was how fresh the seafood was. Lastly, we did not mind that it is loud in thw restaurant. We could hear each other and loved that fact that every single table seemed to be having a great...
