This was absolutely the worst experience I've had at any TRH restaurant, which is usually very consistent from location to location
I'll preface by saying my server was absolutely amazing;
We will have a issue counter represented by numbers
1, Booked ahead of time, told me 1 hour, 30 mins. Cool Get to 1 hour and 50 mins, nothing, talked to the server, and saw my name on the waiting list all the way up, and several names had been ahead and seated. This was a party of 3, name was not called. After another 10 mins of talking, I was seated.
2, ordered drinks, was missing one of them that never came (more on this later)
3, 4, 5, ordered steaks, all three steaks were overcooked
6, one of my sides was wrong,
7, my ribs were overcooked like burnt on one side and flabby on the other,
Manager comes out and apologizes, get a replacement for my side and all the steaks, steaks finally are fine. It was a real disappointment since this is a steakhouse
8, Yet another manager comes out, apologizes and said the same thing as the other manager, (it seems they didn't realize one talked to us) and yet ANOTHER manager comes out and talks to us trying to fix and correct an order.
9,Get the receipt, it has the drink we never got,
10, we get new receipt, it's the one to another table,
11, Get the last receipt, absolutely no discount, anything to compensate for the fact that we've been here for almost 1 hour and 45 mins of waiting, getting cold food,
12, everything coming at different times so I gotta eat a side with no main because of a mess up, 12.
Here's the thing, I understand mistakes happen, but 12 things wrong? Get out of here. The managers were nice, but they don't need to be nice, they need to manage. The communication is absolutely horrendous. Between three managers, you'd expect everything to be running flawless. There should be self audit, self checks and occasional quality control, if not, that's just three people you don't need and can get rid of, because the job isn't getting done right any how. I understand it's a busy time, but that many mess ups? My waitress was sweating watching us. She got a nice tip and was amazing throughout the ordeal.
I'd say this is an isolated experience but 12 mistakes at one table is pure negligence and complacency.
I will not be returning because I think they haven't gotten their operation down to a science yet since it's...
Read moreWe first visited Texas Roadhouse on a Monday 01/22/24, and unfortunately, the experience was a major disappointment from start to finish. Our visit began with a 30-minute wait outside, followed by another 15 minutes inside before being seated. Once seated, we waited another 40-60 minutes for our food to arrive. While the endless fluffy bread was delicious, it couldn't compensate for the agonizing wait times. To add insult to injury, our orders came back incorrect. My husband's 24oz steak, specifically requested medium-rare, arrived significantly overcooked. When we politely notified our waiter, she dismissed our concern with a flippant "Oh, the cook just made it a bit more than medium-rare," and proceeded to badger him with "Are you sure you want to change it?" three times. After enduring the previous hour of delays, my husband, understandably frustrated, reluctantly accepted the overcooked steak. My sirloin steak suffered the same fate, arriving overcooked as well. My son's steak was overcooked as well and he didn't receive his replacement steak until we were ready to leave the restaurant. By that point he asked for a to go box to take it home. Aside from the wait times and service issues, the food itself was a mixed bag. While the bread, ribs, salad, blooming onion, and burgers were acceptable, the steak, macaroni and cheese, corn, and vegetables ranged from overcooked and undercooked to oversalted. To top it all off, we noticed the specific steak my husband had chosen from the display counter sitting untouched upon leaving the restaurant, adding a final layer of insult to the entire experience.Based on our deeply disappointing experience, we will not be returning to the Texas Road in National City. The combination of excessive wait times, order errors, uncaring service, and inconsistent food quality leaves us questioning how such a renowned establishment could fall so short. We recommend looking elsewhere for a pleasant and satisfying...
Read morePoor experience during birthday celebration at Texas Roadhouse (National City)
Dear Texas Roadhouse,
I want to express my deep dissatisfaction with the service we received today, September 8, 2024, when we went to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We arrived early, before the restaurant opened, with the intention of being the first to enter, as we had previously enjoyed the food. We were a group of ten, and from the beginning, the service was disappointing.
We were told we needed to wait 30 minutes for a table to be prepared for our group. We agreed without any issues, but while we waited outside in extremely hot weather (over 100°F), we noticed that other smaller groups (of 4, 5, or 6 people) were being seated immediately. We had to stand outside with our baby, and although there was a small entry area where we could have waited more comfortably, we were not allowed inside. However, other customers were granted access to that space.
After waiting 30 minutes, we were informed that we would need to wait longer. Despite our request, we were still not allowed into the entry area. After an hour of waiting, we were finally seated, but at separate tables, just like other groups that arrived after us. The disorganization was clear.
One of the excuses given was that there was a service shortage at 11:30 a.m., even though the restaurant opens at 11:00 a.m. We also observed staff arriving late. Although the waitresses who served us were very kind, the three staff members at the entrance, as well as the manager, were rude and showed no interest in improving the situation.
We chose Texas Roadhouse in National City to celebrate a special occasion, but unfortunately, the experience was extremely frustrating and disappointing. We expected a more professional and organized service.
Thank you in advance for your attention, and I hope this situation will help improve the service for future...
