Big Whiskey's - Neosho — Restaurant in Neosho

Came here on Wed, 7-23-25. It was an impromptu work get together and we were going to have 9 people. I called ahead (my mom used to own a diner) cuz I didn’t want to be That Guy and just show up and overwhelm them. Was told it wouldn’t even be a problem, they had plenty of room and didn’t require a reservation. Arrived at 6pm and we were seated promptly. Most of us had tea or soft drinks, one guy had beer. We ordered a couple appetizers and most of us got salads or sandwiches. 2 folks got pasta. To say it took a LONG time for food is an understatement. The waitress (forgot her name. Possibly Asian?) was wonderful, but everything fell down around the kitchen. It took over an hour before ANY food came out. Oh, they did bring my Wife’s salad (she ordered salad and egg rolls for her meal) , but that was it for awhile, and no one wants to eat when no one else has their food. All I ordered was a wedge salad that came out on a hot plate, no tomato or red onion. As it was late, we ate quickly when food finally came. We walked out the door at about 8:05pm. Two hours after we got there. No visit from a manager, nothing off the bill. Again, the waitress was a joy and did her best, but this isn’t fast food. Let me start this out with saying that I don't like to complain, but the entire experience was bad. Our waitress was not attentive at all. I asked for decaf and she said she would check, then disappeared. I had to ask again after she finally reappeared after someone else brought our nachos. The answer was no, which was fine but she didn't offer me regular--I had to ask for it and was never offered a refill. The nachos were like something I make at home and they didn't give us any little plates or napkins. A quarter of my husband's steak was rare, the loaded mashed potatoes were bland, and onion straws burnt. The flavor of the steak was good, as was my burger patty. The small handful of fries tasted like old oil and no where near made up for the cost of the burger. I figured a manager would do table checks, so we patiently waited to discuss these issues but none showed up. Waitress continued to disappear and seemed in a rush to turn her table, even though they weren't busy. We paid $67 for the worst dinner we've ever had at a sit down restaurant. The atmosphere at Big Whiskey's is really fun. My husband went to a Big Whiskey's with my son last year and when he saw that we were getting one he was really happy because he said the food was awesome. The food today was better than most for Neosho. But what made this visit a one star was how long it took to get service. We waited over 40 minutes for a salad and a wrap. The chicken was warmish but the fries were hot. I'm guessing that it's because it's a new location and new staff. But wow! Today was our anniversary and when I told our server that we were celebrating our anniversary today she didn't say anything, not congratulations, not oh wow how many years, nothing. After our food was served our server stopped to ask if it was correct but never returned to see if we needed anything else or to refill our drinks.

We need a good restaurant in Neosho and we were really hoping Big Whiskey's was going to be it, but they really need to work on their kitchen staff getting orders out and their wait staff being a little friendly. Please, please get...
