1/14/16 Cowboy's Café in Minden was the last stop we made before driving home from Nevada on New Year's weekend. I wanted something moderately light since I expected to spend the next 4 or 5 hours in the car and I was driving. Our friendly waitress brought me some hot coffee (perfect!) and took our orders. Husband went straight for the biscuits and gravy plate and I ordered two eggs and hashbrowns. It came with toast also which I had hoped to switch for tomato slices (they were the same price on the "sides" menu), but I ended up having to give my husband the sourdough and ordering a side of tomato for myself. I received a coffee refill without having to ask for it: EXCELLENT! Food came and I would have liked to see tomato slices just a little bit thicker than what I got, but the plates were otherwise full of food. My husband's plate was smothered in gravy with large biscuits underneath. My two eggs were cooked perfectly over-medium, and the extra-crispy hashbrowns were delicious, but unexpectedly greasy. I actually stuck a napkin under one edge of my plate to drain the oil to one side so I could eat off the other. Overall, pretty good food and terrific service. Even had a manager (or owner maybe) come say hi and make sure we were happy with everything before we left. Love that!

This place was like visiting the wild West. There were customers in cowboy hats, and all sorts of memorabilia from the old West on the wLls. Guns, spears, photos, ammunition, branding irons. The service was swift and helpful. Food was plenty ... and rather high on calories. I had the chicken froed stake. It was good ... stake and eggs and hash browns were good. The gravy lacked flavor I will have another dish next time, probably an omelette ... Would I come back? Yes :-) PS it is best to visit outside of rush hours ... avoid the waiting in line

1st time here. I was dining by myself. Started for the counter however was offered a table I gladly accepted. Service was quick, she was on top of making sure everything was alright and my coffee always full without being overly attentive. Food was excellent. Had the Cowboy Bene. Portions were large. Atmosphere excellent. Small but extremely comfortable. Highly recommend and will definitely return next time in Minden

Man, talk about a 1 star meal. Came in a little after noon they closed at 1:30 and everyone was in such a rush to close up shop they did all the things you shouldn't do. Ordered: Ortega burger with fries, asked how we wanted it cookd; Medium, how did it arrive well done a charred on the outside, the bun was burnt as well. Fries, soggy with a pool of grease under them on the plate and not seasoned.

Chicken Fried Steak and Hasbrown asked for the hashbrowns to be crisp, so what did they do? They put them in the deep fryer so they were no longer hashbrowns but mini fries. CFS was also overcooked and had issues being cut with a steak knife.

Service: Good when we came in, but poor in the end, check was dropped when the food was dropped then asked to pay right away as they wanted to close the till, paid by CC and when the slip was dropped off was asked right away to fill it out and give it back. They were in such a hurry that all customer service etiquette went out the window. When did they ask how the food was or to check up on us? When we were finished with the meal and getting ready to leave.

This will hopefully be a reminder to them to not rush out your customers and the last meal should be as good in quality as...

I dined there for lunch today November 7 I was torn between the ham and cheese omelette and the smoke try to scramble on the waitress’s recommendation I chose the smoke tritip scramble unfortunately the cooks didn’t share her passion for the menu item. My order came out in a timely manner however the eggs were dry and lacking in flavor the try tip that was among them was tasteless. I was very disappointed and dismayed I have enjoyed other meals at Cowboys very much unfortunately I feel like The cooks rendering my meal felt rushed and cooked my order as rapidly as they could on the highest heat they could find rendering the meal totally tasteless and less palatable then it could’ve been. To qualify my opinion I used to be a short order cook I know what it takes to make something taste great and high heat and rapid production are destructive to any dish you...
