GIMIK REPUBLIK — Restaurant in Nevada

I do not recommend this place. The security guard or crowd controller name Carlos acted as a bully and embarrassed & discriminated me by not allowing me to enter the place. My friend celebrated his birthday last Saturday May 15, 2021 at 8pm at Gimik. But because I had to worked that night, it was already Sunday 12:30 am when I arrived at the place. When I was about to enter, Carlos the security stopped me. When I asked why, he said he had to check my body temperature. Although I did not see him do it to those ahead of me, I just said go ahead take my temperature. But instead of getting my temperature he changed his alibi and told me I cannot enter because I don't have a face mask. When he said that, I looked at the half opened door and no one among the guests were wearing face masks. And there's NO SIGNS nor INSTRUCTIONS on the door or window that say NO MASK NO ENTRY. So I told Carlos I am fully vaccinated and I am not required to wear mask per CDC & Gov. Sisolak guidelines. Carlos insists that it doesn't matter if I am fully vaccinated and I still needs to wear a mask. I took a mask from my car just to personally greet my friends who are waiting for me. But I was already out of mood and did not even tried the foods. In less than an hour I said goodbye to my friends since I am not eqnjoying the atmosphere anymore. After dinner at a different restaurant, we stopped by with friends who frequent Gimik often. He DJs here on Thursdays. It so happened to be a night where a Filipino artist would be singing a song. The restaurant was packed. I truly enjoyed listening to the band. I've heard a lot of bands in Vegas play music and some are meh and some are good. First, the instrument players were on point and sounded amazing. Now for the female singer, she sounds so good. Better than a handful of female singers I've heard recently. Her energy is amazing..

We had a platter of fried food, lumpia, calamari and some other items. I was not a fan of the food. But, the other table had sizzling dishes that I'd like to try next time. It smelt so good.

My friends and I went here the other night. There were about 10 of us. Some of us have had to leave early, so they paid their part of the bill before they left. However, for some unknown reason, the bills they have paid weren't deducted from the total bill. And when my friend and I were the only ones left, we were obliged to pay for the whole strangely untouched bill. I've only had 4 drinks, but i ended up paying $178 because the owner didnt deduct the payments of my friends who left. I've also heard of some other bad things about this place, but i have no first hand experience about that, so i will not mention. I do not recommend this place at all to anyone even if you're filipino. There are better filipino bars in town who wouldn't...
