Giovanni's Mint Extravaganza: A Culinary Odyssey in Mintiness
Nestled in the heart of the city, Giovanni's Pizza isn't just your run-of-the-mill pizza joint. No, it's a mystical realm where the ordinary becomes extraordinary, and the hero of our tale? The unsung champion, the real star of the show—Giovanni's mints.
As I strolled into Giovanni's on a breezy Tuesday evening, little did I know that my taste buds were about to embark on a flavor journey unlike any other. After my meal two small, unassuming packages were placed on the table—the Mints.
The mints, daintily wrapped in Giovanni's signature white wrapping, beckoned to me like a siren luring sailors into the sea. Intrigued, I delicately picked one up, feeling the coolness of the wrapper against my fingertips. Little did I know, I was holding a portal to a parallel universe of minty wonder. The Crunch: A Symphony of Mintiness As I bit into the mint, a symphony erupted in my mouth. The crisp crunch echoed through my senses, a prelude to the minty crescendo that followed. Giovanni's mint wasn't just a mint; it was a gastronomic marvel, a testament to the secret artistry hidden within the kitchen walls.
The minty explosion didn't stop at the initial crunch. Oh no, it was merely the beginning. As the mint dissolved, a refreshing wave of coolness enveloped my palate. It was like winter had descended upon my taste buds, but in the most delightful and unexpected way.
Now, one might wonder, how does one seamlessly integrate mints into a pizza experience? Giovanni's has cracked the code. As I savored a slice of their mouthwatering Margherita pizza, I decided to venture into uncharted territory: a simultaneous mint infusion. The result? A gastronomic ballet where the minty freshness pirouetted with the cheesy crescendo on my taste buds. It was like a dance party, and my taste buds were the VIP guests.
As I concluded my Giovanni's mint-infused feast, I couldn't help but revel in the minty aftermath. My breath, once a mere exhale, had transformed into a refreshing breeze, leaving everyone within a three-foot radius enchanted by the lingering notes of minty magic.
But the minty journey doesn't end with the last bite. No, Giovanni's understands the sentimentality attached to their mints. As a parting gift, they graciously provide a small bag of mints for patrons to take home. It's not just a mint; it's a memory encapsulated in white wrappings, a reminder of the minty haven that is Giovanni's.
In conclusion, Giovanni's Pizza isn't just a pizzeria; it's a Mintopia, a realm where mints reign supreme. The mints at Giovanni's aren't mere palate cleansers; they're the unsung heroes, the secret sauce that elevates the dining experience to unparalleled heights. If you seek a culinary adventure where pizza meets minty marvels, Giovanni's is your gateway to Mintopia. Enter at your own risk; the minty enchantment might just capture your taste buds and...

Today's experience went like this:
-Placed order at counter to-go after a walk in the heat. Ready for pizza!
-Wait 25 min while the pizza chef complains about negative reviews, he asks us to leave a 5 star review while waiting.
-Receive my order and intend to eat a slice before walking back out in the heat, but am told there is a dine-in charge (although I left a tip even for the to-go order)
-Walk outside to grab a slice Finally, I am So HUNGRY!.....and find that my order is incorrect. (We are the only customers here at this time)...usually I would just eat it, but asked for no tomato sauce due to stomach issues..and there was tomato sauce.
-Go inside and let them know. The guy offers to remake it, said he got distracted talking on the phone.. and it would be 15 more min..
At this point, I took it because I was hot and hungry. It's over 90 degrees today and I had been walking. I just wanted to come for a quick slice of pizza and ended up being here for over an hour and not allowed to dine-in, even after all the trouble.
It's crazy to me that after complaining about negative reviews and even asking for a 5 star review, someone wouldn't take into consideration the inconvenience of that mistake and try something as little as letting them dine-in to make up for it..or even offer a drink after they've been out in the heat?...something? Wasted time can't be made up..but you could at least try?
In the end, they did remake it, and the pizza was delicious!...but not delicious enough to be worth all that. So....
Read moreMy husband and I have lived here almost 20 years and love finding "new to us" restaurants, that quickly become favorites. We were on the hunt for favorite pizza place and after reading a recommendation for Giovanni's pizzeria and Mediterranean grill on the Nextdoor app, a quick google search, and seeing all the great reviews, we decided to try it out. We ordered the Tzatsiki and hummus for a starter, the Ricotta pizza, and chicken gyro plate with rice. The hummus, Tzatsiki and warm pita bread came out first. My husband and I could have happily filled up on this alone. The pita had a slight crisp on the exterior, soft on the inside. The warm pita paired with the hummus and Tzatsiki was perfection. Then came the pizza and gyro plate. The pizza was hot out of the oven, the crust freshly made, the ricotta, mozzarella, and garlic melty. It was heavenly. The gyro plate was served with rice (my husbands pick) and a side salad. The grilled chicken pieces seasoned beautifully, and the rice was delicious and the perfect side for the chicken. The food was fresh, homemade, and the service attentive and friendly. We left there filled up on great food, knowing it was now a favorite place and we can't wait to go back. Please go eat at Giovanni's pizzeria and Mediterranean...
