The one star is because the young lady was hanging in there as you read below. I was at this location on 12/16/2017 @ approximately 7:00pm. I will do my best to be as nice & professional as possible with this comment. So upon going to this location I ordered 2 Chipotle chicken flatbread, a SuperGreen Caesar wrap and a Paradise Point. I didn’t order the smoothie until I got to the window & I didn’t know the name but I described it (strawberries, bananas & pineapple) the young lady had no idea what that was. She said she’ll just make a smoothie with that in it. She finally gave me my food & asked again what was in the smoothie, so I went into my app to get the name of the smoothie all the while wondering why she doesn’t know what that is. Fast forward to me getting home 30 minutes later as I made a stop in route home so this is not my usual location but I’ve had the same thing before they moved to where they are now with no problems. Anyway I’m settling in to have my dinner & immediately looking at it the wrap was unrecognizable (I have pictures) the meat did not taste like the Caesar chicken I’m use to but I thought I’m being dramatic give it another try still worse than the first bite. I looked inside the lettuce looks old & whither & it looks like the other green ingredient is just spinach all whither. I am very aware that this is a warm wrap but every time I’ve had it, it’s been fresh every time, seriously. Plus I have one of these at least 2-3 times a month so I know what it’s supposed to look & taste like & this what I purchased is not it. The ingredients are not fresh at all. So of course I have to prepare me some dinner at home now which is fine, but I work too hard to have to waste money on food I can’t eat so I called the location. 1st time the phone times out because no one answers, 2nd time someone says “hello” like they are a teenager at home being bothered, then they hang up so at this point I have an attitude. I call back 3rd time & they answer the same way “hello” with an attitude to the point I thought maybe I was calling someone’s personal number so I ask “is this Tropical Smoothie Cafe” & she says “yeah” with even more attitude. So I ask “may I speak to a manager or supervisor”, she says there isn’t one here but I’ll give you their phone number because they won’t answer for me. She goes on to say she is the only person there, she is at 2 hours of overtime at this point & just been overwhelmed. And to top it off the manager won’t answer the phone. So she ask if I have a pen & paper for the phone number (702)704-**. I take it down and I didn’t even express my concern because it was obvious she had no control over this situation & I really felt bad for her. Now I’m a Supervisor & I always have my phone available for calls or text messaging as well as email for the employees that i’m over. I’m not sure how much stake a manager has in this franchise but this is unacceptable & if there is an owner over that manager it’s even more sad that this young lady has no one to call. I wish nothing bad on the young lady that took & attempted to make my order only more training & a chance because even though she was at 2 hours overtime, she was still there with no help & that says a lot about her character & integrity. Most would have left. There is more but Google has a...
Read moreHaving been a customer of Tropical Smoothie Cafe(s) for almost 6 years, the quality of the food, the attitude of the employees, and the lack of professionalism of the manager were completely unacceptable. The TSC on 4165 S Grand Canyon Dr is a 24 Hour location for its Drive Thru. On listed date, I purchased a Ultimate Club Sandwich. I knew something was rotten in it from the first bite. I spat the bite out and began to take the sandwich apart to see what was bad. The vegetables were fine. The bacon was fine. The ham and the turkey smelled like melted plastic and tasted very expired. I called the location and was told no manager would be available until the next morning but that I could come back and swap it for something else. I was reluctant to do so because if one thing is rotten, I felt like other things would be as well. However, being a patron for 5 1/2 years, I didn't want to make a fuss about it the following morning so I accepted the offer to swap it for another item. This was a mistake. I was given a Thai Chicken Wrap in place of my sandwich and went home. I took the first bite and again... A taste that reminded me of burnt plastic and vomit. I have never in my entire life had to spit food out as I did with this wrap because it was honestly that disgusting. I believe I am more than entitled to speak honestly about this as again, I have spent quite a lot of money at TSC in the last 5 1/2 years. I've had TSC's Thai Chicken Wrap at least 10-20 times since I've been frequenting the franchises. I know what it's supposed to taste like and this was, without exaggeration, worse than the taste of vomit. My smoothie from the location, which I've had issues with in the past as well, was a Get-Up-And-Goji. I've had this smoothie since 2009 (from different location on Sahara/Fort Apache) and I have always loved it and know what it's supposed to taste like. This one was bitter and tasted like the fruit was many days expired. I had my father taste test it as well and he told me it was bitter and put it down the garbage disposal. This was more than unacceptable already for a loyal customer. The manager, however, took it to another level. This manager, again with no exaggeration, was the most unprofessional, belligerent, rude employee that I have seen in my entire life. She denied responsibility for the food. She denied a refund about four different times (in front of other customers of the store) and I told her the same thing about how long I have been coming to TSC. And prior to me speaking with her in person, I called and spoke very kindly with her (despite circumstances) and she told me she wished to speak with the staff on duty at the time. She had put me on hold. According to my call log, 19 minutes went by and she never came back. That's when I had the already mentioned issues with her in person at the location. And she admitted that she didn't even speak with the staff on duty during that 19 minutes on hold. She apparently left me on hold for good. This manager needs to be re-evaluated immediately. This is entirely unacceptable. I would appreciate an apology. After being a loyal customer for 5 years, I do not deserve the quality of food or the treatment I received from...
Read moreWalked in to order. No greet, no eye contact, no nothing. It was awkward. At the register team member made eye contact. Stood there. I engaged are you ready. Team member nodded. Placed my order. Sat down and waited. Smoothie came out first. Detox island - it was decent. Ordered a breakfast burrito with bacon and kale apple slaw to go. I was handed the bag and smoothie by being left in the pick up boxes on the counter. Minutes before was told “ we have no kale slaw, you want corn or sweet potato. I took the sweet potato’s. Picked up my order and I walked out. No acknowledgment of any kind. Got home opened the burrito still warm. Took a bite and it was 95% cheese very little bacon and not even enough egg for me to state some egg. I didn’t order a cheese burrito. Ugh! Thought I would give another chance 2 days later. Went through the drive through. Pulled up. Voice says what’s your order. I place my order - detox smoothie and chicken ranch flatbread. The window opened team member says $14.90. I hand my payment over. Came back handed me my smoothie and food. I said thank you have a great day. The team member looked at me and let the window shut slowly. Once home (I live less than 5 miles from this location). Detox smoothie consistent with the one from the 2 days prior. Wrap still warm. Open it and took a bite. Lettuce and LOTS of ranch dressing. Took another bite. Same thing. Opened it up it was 45% of lettuce, 50% ranch dressing and 3% cheese and 2% chicken.
I have always had a good experience and decently good food from the tropical smoothie franchise. In many states. Including here in Vegas. I have had great food and service from the tropical smoothie on Cheyenne and 215. This location atmosphere is worse than a funeral. Just dreadful. Food is very inconsistent from what I stated above. I know you never know what someone else is going through. These visits and encounters were with 3 different team members. Making it just really crappy customer service. I would say it would seem to be or just my opinion. It must comes from the top down in the direction and it accountability of this sad and miserable team. It is a choice however m…. you and I know this could be and do so...
