I've wanted to come in here for a while now and finally got the chance. They weren't that busy when we came in, so it was a bit off that we had to wait so long in between drinks-menu- order-food. I only have sweet tea when I'm out for food. I use it as a treat, so to speak. This place does not have sweet tea. I settled for water. I asked the server what was better, the burger or the chicken. She said the burger, so that is what I got. The food looked great. The fries were good. The burger was ok. It was their take of a big Mac. All together, the flavor was decent, but eating the burger by itself, there was no seasoning at all. It's not something I would run back and try again. The service started out OK but finished terrible. I judge your service by how well you keep my drink filled. I should never have to ask for it unless you are swamped, and then I will understand. To let a table sit there for their entire meal and you never once refill their drink or ask is terrible service.

We went to Freddy’s with a local group for trivia night. The trivia was very engaging and just the right level of difficulty. It was easy to hear the trivia host even in the crowded bar. The atmosphere was fun and lively for a weeknight, but thankfully doesn’t have the college bar vibe of the other Freddy’s location in San Marcos. The drinks were okay for the price - they have very cheap drink specials, but as expected at the price point the drinks contain a lot of mixer. The real reason I’ve deducted a star is the food. Pictured here are the Loaded Crinkle Cut Fries, which are $12. It was seriously one of the worst dishes we’ve ever had. It was just a bowl of verde salsa and soggy fries. The texture was flat-out gross, and we ended up tossing most of it. I’m hopeful it was just a fluke, but I think we’ll stick to drinks next time.

I really wanted to like this restaurant, perhaps I should’ve ordered a burger for a better experience but I was told the pulled pork sandwich was recommended by guests and “really good”. The BBQ sauce on the sandwich was basically ketchup, and the pork was full of fat. The slaw had no cabbage whatsoever. The atmosphere was fine typical bar, staff was friendly. Kids were present but I do not feel this is a kid friendly restaurant more of a college bar for quick bite. Very nice covered patio area. Food left a lot to be desired.

Absolutely Outstanding – Freddy C’s Went Above and Beyond!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Freddy C’s! With less than two weeks' notice, they not only accommodated our party but completely knocked it out of the park. From the very first phone call, the owner and staff treated us like family. They were incredibly responsive, flexible, and genuinely eager to make everything perfect—and perfect it was.

Planning an event on short notice can be stressful, but Freddy C’s made it feel effortless. They worked with us every step of the way, offering suggestions, making adjustments without hesitation, and showing a level of hospitality that is rare to find. What stood out most was how overly accommodating they were—truly going far beyond what was expected. They even helped set up decorations before the event, which speaks volumes about their commitment to making sure everything looked and felt just right.

And the food—wow. Every single dish was delicious, fresh, and beautifully presented. Our guests raved about it all night. You can tell that the team at Freddy C’s takes real pride in what they serve and how they serve it.

If you're looking for a place to host a special gathering or simply want an incredible meal in a warm, welcoming atmosphere, this is the place. Freddy C’s is more than just a restaurant—it’s a gem run by people who truly care. I’m so grateful for everything they did to make our event unforgettable. Thank you to the amazing owner and staff—you made it...

I typically do not write bad reviews, frankly I actually just don’t go back. But this situation was a bit different, and I was extremely disappointed.

-The menu consists of maybe 5 appetizers and maybe 5 entrees. Cool, no biggie… but absolutely none of them sounded appetizing on the appetizer list. Cauliflower something, Parmesan fries (this sounded decent), and some others I cannot remember.

So we ordered the fries, I figured a nice snack …. I’m not even joking when I write this, that they were the worst things I’ve eaten in years. The fries were SOGGY … and soaked in what looked like water at least a quarter inch in the bowl. The Parmesan on top was pesto I believe, which again… fine.. but was clumpy and had some meat in it and looks like cat food. God honest truth , it was extremely unappealing to both the eye and stomach lol.

The beer was happy hour and still $4…? For a short. That was interesting since that’s why we went…. I live a good appetizer and half price beer. But $4 for a short discounted? Muck and fuss has $2 beers and half price apps.

-My recommendation is just make a cheap chips and queso bowl, or wings for appetizers to throw in. The appetizers were super odd, I say go ahead and be different, but to have nothing remotely appetizing.

I’m a simple girl… but this was even ridiculous to me. :( We will not be going back...
