Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in New Braunfels

The only reason I am giving 1 star is because my husband and I love Jersey Mike’s sub sandwiches as a brand and no matter what state we are in if there’s a Jersey Mike’s we go. But never in our experience anywhere else (in any state) have we ever experienced the terrible customer service that we get every single time we dine at this location. You probably are thinking what a bunch of idiots for actually trying to come back so often when the experience is always terrible. You’re right we are and we’re not going to anymore. The only reason why I’m giving it one star is because we actually like the food. If I could. I would give it negative stars On the service, however. Every time we go, regardless of the time of day, the staff is never welcoming or friendly. Its always as if we are putting them out to show up and order a sandwich. There is never a thank you at the end of the sale and your system has the audacity to ask us to tip these people. This has happened multiple times since 2021 and today was the last straw. We will not return. We came in about 1130am for lunch . There wasn’t one customer in the store except us. There were 4 people I saw working, one woman in the front making a sandwich and the others in back coming back and forth it filling to go orders.Not one of them looked up to acknowledge us walking in and my husband and I waited several minutes before being acknowledged by the woman. When the woman finally finished making the sandwiches that she seemed to be making for the to go order, instead of saying hello or hi or I onow this is a big one “sorry for making you wait” which we always wait regardless so I knew that wouldn't happen, we were greeted with a scowl on her face seemingly ticked we were there. Then she asked “what do you want?” Not a “how can I help you or what can I get ya? Just a what do you want and a pissed off face. Here’s the thing my husband and I are both business owners in service Industries, and we totally understand that things can be hectic at times. We also understand that people have bad days. But this literally is every single time we done there and it doesn’t matter who is in the front makibg the sandwiches. The staff is always rude. They definitely do not care on making any customer that walks in the door feel as if they want to business or matter. We get it, It’s a different time in 2024, people don’t seem to care anywhere. Which is why so many businesses are closing. Your staff turnover speaks for itself. I never have made a review like this, especially for a “fast” food restaurant thats not fast or friendly , but enough is enough.I hope that this review reaches the owner. If I had the chance to actually speak face-to-face to somebody, I would love to do that instead of making this stupid review. It’s frustrating because we really like the brand Of Jersey Mike’s and the sandwiches, but unfortunately, we are done. Your location is ridiculous and should be shut it down to a to go only place. That way you don’t have to actually interact with people.It’s insane how many people actually tolerate this and even more insane we have this many times. Let me start off by saying I never write reviews, but after several negative experiences at this location, I hope this one inspires some change. One of the recurring issues here is that orders are often wrong.

The customer service is also lacking. Multiple employees don’t greet customers or show any of the friendliness you get at other locations. I’ve seen staff on their phones while people wait to be helped. One employee in particular, a short girl with long blonde/brunette hair, has messed up my order several times. Honestly, she moves like it’s her first day every day and never seems to know what’s going on. You’re making sandwiches, not launching rockets.

The staff clearly need to be properly trained. Basic customer service and order accuracy should not be this hard. I also agree with other reviews suggesting some of the staff should be drug tested. The lack of focus and professionalism is hard to ignore.

It’s a shame, because the store itself is actually nice and well set up. But the staff completely ruin the experience.

I’ve started driving to the other Jersey Mike’s location in New Braunfels instead, and I haven’t had a single bad experience there. It’s worth the extra drive to be treated with respect and get your order made correctly.

This is my 3rd time coming to this location and the young man who makes the sandwiches always has an attitude like he hates his job. He gets an attitude when you ask for more than one sandwich. We ordered 4 sandwiches and of course it was a mess. We told him what we wanted on the sandwiches, but of course he didn’t listen per usual. He told us that the individuals who put the extras on would ask, but they never did because he didn’t disclose that information to them. Then as we are checking out and trying to get our sandwiches correct this Caucasian lady with a bun in her head just kept staring like she was mad because we were correcting him. The 2 workers that checked us out were wonderful. It was a young man and young lady. Can’t speak highly enough of those two. They made sure everything was correct. I know I won’t be coming back to this location. I swear they think they can have an attitude for no reason. Why work on fast food if you don’t have customer service skills. I will be waiting until a new location near me opens up. Can’t stand rude people for no reason. This all happened today on December 23, 2023 at 1:50pm.
