As a boba enthusiast, I was excited to go to Red Circle Boba. Unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant and highlighted serious issues with staff training and customer service. This area in general lacks Boba Tea options, and so I was very happy to see this place when it opened. I cannot recommend it any longer however.
I ordered a custom drink from their 'create your own' menu. The cashier seemed confused and rang it up incorrectly as a different drink, omitting some ingredients. When I received my order, it wasn't what I had asked for. I have sympathy for this employee because she was not rude, but clearly did not know their own order-taking system. I do not take issue with staff who are learning, but I do take issue with treating customers badly and gaslighting them.
I politely and directly pointed out the mistake after the drink had been made (when the error was noticeable due to the drink's odd appearance), but the staff insisted I was wrong. They claimed their 'signature drink' always included certain ingredients, even though this wasn't mentioned on the menu in any way. It's also worth noting that two of their TV screens were down, which I had pointed out when I walked in. Importantly, I hadn't even ordered this 'signature drink'. The cashier had rung up the order incorrectly, and all employees were present when I made my original order. No other customers were present except for me. The staff even suggested I should have known about this "signature drink" from a photo on the wall - an unreasonable expectation. I asked if they "can't" remake this drink, or "won't," because there's a difference, and it seemed to me that the simple solution was to fix their mistake. This had me in a state of disbelief!
When I asked for a remake or refund, they refused. There was no manager on site, so I had to call myself. The manager eventually instructed the staff to remake my drink. What should have been a simple fix turned into a 30-minute ordeal. In my experience with boba shops everywhere, a mistake like this would typically be corrected quickly and without question. The staff's reluctance to remake the drink, even when it was clearly their error (and then blaming me), left me wondering about the management's policies and how they treat their employees.
Throughout this process, it became evident that the young employees were not properly trained in customer service or problem-solving. They simply repeated that there was nothing they could do, argued, and made excuses for why it was my fault. Their inability to handle a straightforward issue and their fear of correcting a mistake suggests deeper problems with management and training. Having worked for years in customer service myself, I would never treat a customer in such a fashion. What should have been a straightforward visit to a boba shop turned into an unnecessarily complicated situation that left me feeling frustrated and disappointed. If it is too difficult for them to take a "create your own" order, then perhaps they should not offer it. Although, my order did not include boba at all and simply included two basic ingredients, so I am surprised this request could not be handled.
I can't recommend them based on my experience. I've had several drinks from here, and about half of the time they are satisfying. It is not a terrible option in terms of taste, but that depends on what you are ordering. The staff has made many mistakes in my past orders, but I typically did not say anything. Regardless, it is not worth the hassle of dealing with the staff ever again so I will not be returning. If I were you, I would just take my business a little further away to Boba Tea Lounge because at least their service is consistently good. Red Cricle needs to do better.
EDIT: You will not intimidate me into removing this review with the FAKE review you went post after stalking me online. You literally copy pasted my review, and changed the words but otherwise left it verbatim. I tried resolving this with management and I was ignored. How about I report...
Read moreWe went to pick up bubble tea for us and our friends yesterday 6+ drinks. They had a great selection and they let you mix and match flavors and bases! Lots of bubble tea outfits don't let you do that. They also had a non-caffeinated tea option for our kids which was highly appreciated. The flavor and consistency of the tea was top notch. They provided a choice between honey pearls, brown sugar pearls, and/or poppers. While waiting for our order we had the opportunity to chat with the manager and definitely got good vibes about the whole establishment. This is where we'll be going for bubble tea...
