This morning I had a bit of time to kill before the liquor store opens at 10 so after a quick trip to Wal-Mart, I decided to visit the Taco Bell in the plaza as I didnât want to drive across town to my favorite taco place. I will first start with the experience during the visit.
When I first walked in there was a kid in the way sweeping so I found myself trying to be polite as he was in front of the ordering machine. I did find the touchscreen interface easy to use once I finally got there and I think that Taco Bell did a nice job here of breaking things down in categories making it easy to find. If you are wondering why I didnât go to the other KioskâŠI wanted to use that one and not the other one. There were also photos of the food, but like many restaurant photos you are looking at a Monet and you get a Picasso.
The order took some time to come out which was around five minutes or so. I am not quite sure what the issue was, but it was a long time. While I waited, there was a sign about the floor being wet with water spilled on the floor. During the entire visit no one came to mop it up, which I find inexcusable in any restaurant. Perhaps they lack a mop? Either way, that is dangerous and should have been cleaned up immediately as your average customer is not wearing ânon-Slipâ shoes. Enough on that and onto the foodâŠ
I ordered a Hashbrown Toasted Breakfast Burrito with Steak and a Spicy Cheesy Double Beef Burrito as they looked great in the photo on the Kiosk and sounded good as I always take some home for my dog. So, to start I took a few photos of the exterior and then the interior and then we move on to the food portion. The first two food photos are of the Hashbrown Toasted Breakfast Burrito. I wish I could say something like it âblew my mindâ but it was a bit more of a disappointment than anything. Thankfully they at least have that Diablo sauce in the packets, so I ate half of it as the other half was going to the dog. After that I transitioned to the Spicy Cheesy Double Beef Burrito. Once again, I was epically disappointed and was overwhelmed with the amount of rice as I couldnât really taste much else and this surely was the âsinking shipâ of the day. I would describe this as âdeath by rice in Flavorless Valleyâ. My best guess here is that it is not necessarily the fault of Taco Bell itself, but perhaps the employees need to do a bit of work on presentation and corporate recommended amounts of ingredients. Having worked at a Del Taco, I know this is hard to get when things get busy, but well, I was the only customer in there as the other table had its food. Just saying.
Final Thoughts:
I realize that this is not the most positive of reviews, but if the manager does not know what is happening and the product that is currently being put out, business suffers. If you are dying from hunger pangs and need something to eat, perhaps this would be worth entertaining. For me, I will be driving across town to my taco shop next time so I can at least not grumble through my...
Read moreOrdered through Drive Thru and told them no sour cream on my burrito due to a dairy intolerance. When I returned to work on the other side of town and sat down to eat I took one bite to find out they had in fact put sour cream on my burrito. Upon calling the phone rang for a while. The manager finally answered and started out very rude. I'm usually cool about mistakes on food orders but when you answer with rudeness in your voice, all bets are off. Lets begin from when she answered: First off, she put me on hold to take an order in drive thru. Second, she told me I could come back for a refund, I explained to her that I stopped there to grab something to eat on my way back to my office because I would not be able to eat until 9pm tonight due to my children's schedule after I get off work. Third, She then informed me that I could get my order replaced. I again explained to her that I am at work and would not be able to get back to that side of town before 9 PM and I am now left with no food for lunch until then. She said and I quote "Ma'am I don't know what you want me to do, I can't come feed you".
You're right lady you can't come feed me but what you can do it teach your employee's how to read a monitor screen that says NO SOUR CREAM and you can also not be rude when I call and tell you that your employee's screwed up. You can also not sound so inconvenienced when you receive a call from a PAYING CUSTOMER. I have never dealt with a manager of a eating establishment that was so rude about something that was their mistake. I asked her "What would happen if it was an allergy and my throat swelled up and I died due to your companies negligence?. Her response was asking me if I wanted the district managers phone number. I indeed got the district managers phone number and told her I not only want a refund but I also want my order replaced and that I have never in my life dealt with a manager who was this rude to a customer. I am writing this as I sit here with my sour cream filled burrito sitting in a bag so I can give it back to them and I am without lunch at 330 in the afternoon having eaten breakfast at 8AM and not getting to eat again until 9PM. My word of advice is to always double check your food when you order from this Taco Bell, you NEVER know what might be in it. Chic-fil-a messed up my order once and I was stuck at work and couldn't get back to have them correct it and the manager had an employee bring me the corrected order...now that's...

Customer service is okay, food is always done in a timely manner most of the time. But why is the sauce missing from my orders so frequently! Especially lately. I even started asking for extra sauces because I know they're going to forget even adding 1 packet, and there is either none or barely any that they add. Like what in the world is going on here?
What's really crazy is that, I even add it on my mobile orders 10 Mild sauces and still not doing it. Like who can mess that up? I guess it takes wayyy to much time for them to add the sauces, they're so focused on getting the orders out that they are missing a HUGE key ingredient... The sauces.
Everybody KNOWS that's a must. What's the point of going to Taco Bell if not. Just read the screen and add the sauces. As a matter of fact, why not make it a mandatory thing to ask customers if they'd like sauces or not. Do it right already. Taco Bells most key items and they're consistently...
