DO NOT EAT HERE this wasn’t my family and i’s first time eating here, we ate at this location about 5 years ago and decided to give it a try again. long story short, place was just as disappointing as last time
FOOD) for an establishment of wether or you can trust my word, i previously lived in Okinawa, Japan for more than half my life, was born there and recently moved to texas about 5 years ago
my mother got the teriyaki chicken and scallops, my father got the yakisoba, and i got the philadelphia roll along with the salmon roll
food is way too overpriced from my personal experience, and the fish tasted old and close to rotting my mothers scallops were the same consistency of a leather belt that had sat in your grandfathers closet for too long the yakisoba went entirely against traditional japanese style, tasted like a mix of soy sauce and castor oil, the news were undercooked and completely raw the sushi rolls were more than disappointing, they were poorly made and tasted like old fish, they were made with mostly rice and had small slabs on sushi too fill the middle
SERVICE ) our waitress had rarely worn her mask while serving and handling food between different tables, and was even cheering about the mandate being lifted this coming wednesday
the same waitress went on a rampant of how the coronavirus is entirely chinas fault, and how the chinese people were the ones continuing to spread the virus, she believed the mask are what are making people sick and that by wearing a mask is just feeding into China’s economy ( she used some ill terms against those who are chinese )
while we were checking out she began to talk about leftovers? ( we denied taking their food home ) and how she enjoys eating half eaten cold burgers, nothing against what she likes but we didn’t ask. she had repeatedly toke her mask off to speak in close distance with my family
overall we will not be giving this restaurant another try especially since they haven’t changed over the 5 year period some places i would recommend instead is Kobe and Hiros ramen, might be more of a drive but you definitely get much more for a...
Read moreEspinoza is rude and unprofessional. If you get her as your waitress, ask for another. I have been to many hibachi restaurants and have never experienced service this poorly. She had an immediate attitude, which we initially thought was a result of the restaurant being so busy.
We ordered a shrimp cocktail as an appetizer and she told us “We don’t have that”. We had to point it out to her on the menu. She asked us if we all wanted soup and salad (which automatically comes with the meal) but when my son said “no soup for me” she questioned him again. He repeated “no”, but she brought it to him anyway. She threw our dishes at us to the point that the soup slashed on the table. I ordered the the “Dragon Bowl” and she practically threw it on the table. I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, thinking the drink was heavy because it was a 2-person drink, but no. She never cleared anything from our table...menus, dishes, nothing. She never acknowledged we were celebrating a birthday, which meant we did not receive the customary taiko drumming or cake.
She mixed all of our bills TWICE and while trying to straighten them out, she told us “this is too much” while making hand gestures. I asked her what did she mean and she told us “I’ve never had to deal with this”. We asked was she a new waitress and she rudely stated, No! I’ve worked here for 3 years. Then I told her, “In 3 years, I’m SURE you’ve had a party split a bill?!” Mind you, we were are party of ten.
When we asked to speak to the manager, we still had to justify to him why the service was so poor. Overall, it was a bad experience. They made is feel unwelcome, unwanted, and practically ruined our birthday...
Read moreI lived in New Braunfels for 15 years. After moving, I came back to my favorite hibachi place, which I'm sad to say seems to have drastically gone down hill. I've always tried to be respectable to staff, never leave a mess, etc. but in turn I at least expect some kind of service? Our server got my order wrong twice, didn't check on us until we were basically through with the meal, and then tacked on an 18% auto gratuity for very very subpar service... I was gonna leave a tip, I just don't think the service we received was worth $25. It definitely was not busy and it's not like our waitress was running around frantically, it was very slow and most staff were just standing around. Don't go here with 5+ in your party (ours was actually 4 adults and a baby who didn't eat but was still counted), they'll give you little to no service and still charge you $20+ for it. My filet was ordered medium rare but came out closer to medium well/ well, or at least seemed like it since it was dry and hard to chew. My fried rice also somehow was dry and they no longer add corn which i actually liked. Overall, I paid almost $200 for a mediocre meal with mediocre service and that's pretty sucky in this economy where I work really hard to make $25/hr just to give it to someone who didn't put any effort into giving us a good dining experience. The women's bathroom was not very clean and the seats are broken, so it's just an accident waiting to happen for someone who's a fall risk. The whole place needs a face-lift and some staffing changes. I would no longer recommend this place to anyone, even though it was somewhere I used to go monthly when...
