What an incredible meal! I totally love the vibe of this place; as you walking in you'll see their bright blue bar area followed by the decently large seating area. We started out with the Shrimp Manchurian. I love ANYTHING Manchurian and their sauce was on point. Shrimp was well-cooked and there was no shortage of sauce.
For the main courses, we ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and two half-servings from the vegetarian options: Sunheri Bhindi and Malai Kofta. I like that idea of the half sizes because you can try more things that way! I would totally suggest applying it to the other dishes as well, not just the veggie dishes. LOVED the Malai Kofta, I highly recommend this dish to everyone. Chicken Tikka Masala was also very good, it wasn't at cream-focused and overwhelming as in other restaurants so that the tomato flavors really came out well. The only thing I was not a fan of was the Sunheri Bhindi; it was very dry and difficult to chew.

Read moreFirst of all, the staff is very nice and hospitable. They accomodated us and made sure my family is comfortable. 10/10 on the staff behavior and serving the food. Second thing is ambience- it looked ok. Nothing to praise about the ambience.
Third/Major thing is food- Little background about my visit. My mom is vegetarian and she wanted to have good indian food on mother’s day. Googled some good restaurants and Chef prasad popped up. Drove 45 mins to get there. Ordered bunch of food items - everything vegetarian. I am not sure if it’s only vegetarian but the Vegetarian food was so bad. Paying $15 avg for a small size appetizer- You expect that to taste good. While leaving the restaurant, my mom literally said that - “You make amazingly good food than this restaurant. Ask their chef to get some lessons on how to make Indian Vegetarian Food”. I think this restaurant is more suitable to those people who do not know what is good Indian food...

Everything is cooked to order, with precision and love. Our favorites include: Saag Paneer (the best I've ever had!) Baigan Chaat Appetizer (and, when in season, Baigan Tikka Masala!) Tandoori fish or chicken Any of his breads (naan, roti)
Another reason to support this wonderful restaurant: during COVID-19, Chef Prasad offered a no-questions-asked policy to feed members of our community who couldn't pay for their meals. You might not think this is needed in New Canaan, but Fairfield County suffers from extremely deep wealth inequality. It was touching to see a restaurant offer help in this way, knowing what the entire industry was suffering through.
