First time at G Cafe. Food was absolutely delicious! I ordered the oc I breakfast sandwich and an orangejuice. Pre-warning, it's a bit spicy but amazing. Prices were a bit on the steep side, but is expected given the location. Very environmentally friendly down to the boxed water and plant based utensils. I gave it 4 stars for one reason, costumer service was not 100%. When I inquired about the sandwich _ explained exactly what it was to the T. I was told to sit down and it would be brought out to me. However they did not. My name was called to retrieve it. Not a huge deal, however I was in the middle of some research and documenting and had to break my concentration to get it. While dining, I was mildly perplexed when 4 other costumers that were also dining in were brought their order. Again, not a huge deal. What bothered me, having worked in the restaurant and costumer service industry, was that I had said thank you several times to _ and was not acknowledged at all. Not the slightest response, no your welcome have a nice day, or enjoy,, not even a nod. And I was definitely heard. I most certainly will return and would recommend G Cafe to anyone. Hopefully next time the costumer service will be a little...

Unfortunately I agree with the other review that service and/or training has dropped off in recent weeks/months with new staff. Was hoping it was just a one-time thing, but ordering has been a hassle each of my last few visits. Today, I got an omelette with goat cheese. She upcharged me for that (without saying anything) even though it doesn’t say anywhere on the menu that goat cheese is extra. Mistakes happen, but she insisted on the upcharge after I pointed out that it isn’t on the menu! I gave up since it was only a dollar but that’s just wrong. Last time, same thing with a side salad, tried to charge me $8 for it when it says $3 on the menu, then again insisted it was correct. That time I insisted back since it was almost triple the price… all this is with a bad attitude and no apology at the end either time.
I’ve been a regular but not sure I’ll be back after having to haggle just to get the prices on the menu
Previous review:
I love this place. Everything seems to be baked right here (rare to find that in NYC where I live), and is so fresh and delicious. I’ve tried the quiche, cronuts, a few types of coffee, and bought a loaf of bread— all have been excellent. Plus, nice staff and...
Read moreWe had planned to enjoy brunch at this bakery but ended up eating a chocolate croissant and juggling a cup of chai while walking through the streets of New Haven, due to the lack of available seating. This is not the ideal way to start my review, but I don't want it to overshadow my experience. The chai was simply delightful, exceptionally frothy, at the perfect temperature, and an exquisite blend that enhanced the flavor of their bakery items. The bakery products themselves were exceptional. The chocolate croissant boasted great chocolate and a perfectly crispy, flaky texture. Despite being larger than the typical French croissant, its authenticity and flavors were outstanding, making it one of the best I've ever tasted. The donut, with its rich chocolate cream, was enjoyable as well. As for the almond croissant, the exterior was nice, but the filling was somewhat too liquid and bland for my taste. Overall, this bakery embodies the old-world charm that fits quite well into a city filled with so much (neo-)Gothic architecture. Reflecting on it, it's not surprising that the bakery was so busy we couldn't...
