Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Anita's Grill offers a delectable array of options that cater to a variety of tastes. Each dish was expertly prepared, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented.
The standout for me was the main course. The quality of the ingredients was evident in every bite, and the attention to detail in the preparation truly shone through. It's evident that the chefs at Anita's Grill are passionate about their craft.
Anita's Grill also deserves praise for their exceptional service. The waitstaff was attentive, courteous, and went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was memorable. They were well-versed in the menu, making insightful suggestions and accommodating any dietary preferences or allergies.

Read moreAs much as I love small diners Anita's has terrible custome service and this is not coming from a tourist! This place is always closed so I called to see if they were open before I arrived. Me and my friend showed up and were not greeted by anyone. Not one word was said to us. FOR 1. This place is not even black owned, but staffed with mostly older black women. Not a single worker in the restaurant wore a mask while cooking and handling food which was very telling as we are still in a pandemic. I saw a cook cough with half effort to cover her mouth with no mask/gloves. After the busser cleaned a table we sat at the table only to be told 2 ppl before us were to be seated there. So we stood up until someone cleaned another table. A group of white ppl walked in were immediately seated at the table just cleaned and had their orders taken right away. Later I relaized it was the family of the owner. We were ignored again until someone finally acknowledged our presence and offered us a menu. After sitting at the breakfast bar. The waitress came and took our order only for the rude cook/manager to interrupt and rudely tell the waitress taking our order that she needed to serve the other patrons who she mistakenly skipped. The food was also not as good as it used to be. Only tipped the cook and the waitress who took our order. I...
Read moreGoodness the 3 experiences I had at Anita's set the base line and the high bar for my trip to New Orleans.
This place felt the most authentic of every spot I visited.
First trip was just a quick stop by for some black coffee and it was honestly the best drip coffee I've ever had.
Second time I was hung over from a fun night on Bourbon Street and nursed myself back to life with an Iced Tea.
When I told the matriarch (best way to describe the one person I haven't asked for their name to review) of the establishment enjoyed jesting with me and then offered a bartenders gingerale to settle my stomach...floored by her kindness.
I knew I had to come back to try the Liver as it would be my first time ever and it's so world famous they have masks promoting it.
So very delicious and the serving size was so generous I had leftovers twice.
The Western omelet was also so very delicious.
When I asked for hash browns she asked if we wanted to add peppers and a few other delicious add on to make the best loaded potatoes ever!
Thank you so much for such a phenomenal experience and for sharing the history of Anita's from pre-Katrina days.
I'll be back as soon as I...
