my mom and i went here with my sister to celebrate her 21st birthday!
we arrived at about 10:30am on a wednesday. despite the fact that it was a very busy morning and they do not take reservations, we were seated right away by a very sweet server! they came to take our drink orders right away.
they do have a list of important policies by the front door regarding party seating, gratuity charges, check separation, and more, so be sure to be mindful of that so that you are not taken off guard!
the atmosphere was busy, bustling, and loud. it was pretty packed! it was a bit hard to hear our server and each other, but it wasn’t terrible. the music was modern and positive.
the menu has a dazzling selection of fruity lemonades, cocktails, coffee, and specialty lattes. i ordered a lavender honey latte with oat milk. my mom and sister each ordered a mimosa, my mom ordered a black coffee, and my sister ordered a guava lime lemonade. i would definitely like to return to try their matcha latte and their blueberry lavender lemonade; both sounded absolutely delectable.
my mom wasn’t a fan of their black coffee; she said it was watery and weak. i tasted it and unfortunately i must say the same, but don’t let that deter you! the rest of what we tried was beyond amazing. they have plenty other drinks to choose from as well, and perhaps it was just an off day for the coffee.
the honey lavender latte i ordered was absolutely divine. it was smooth, creamy, and well-balanced. the lavender flavor was not at all overpowering like so many other places make it. it came with a cute little latte art design on top, and it was served an adorable ceramic mug!
the guava lime lemonade was sweet, tart, and refreshing. we all couldn’t get enough.
as for the mimosas, my family members enjoyed them quite a bit! it tasted like they were more champagne than orange juice, which was very nice.
on to the food!!
i really loved that the menu had such a mouth-watering variety of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options! i am vegetarian and eat only minimal animal products, while my mom and sister avoid gluten due to their health. every option was very clearly marked, which made browsing the menu here both easy and exciting! i would love to come back and try the peach cobbler muffin and one of their yummy-sounding tofu scrambles for sure. it’s always so lovely to find a place where we can enjoy a delicious, wholesome meal while still adhering to our health restrictions and personal beliefs 💗!
all in all, we decided on the bearcat breakfast with bacon, their paleo gluten-free blueberry pancakes, and the caprese toast for me. according to my mom and sister, who shared the bearcat breakfast/bacon/pancakes, the potatoes were delicious, the eggs were “fine,” and the paleo pancakes were “amazing.” my sister is quite picky with her bacon, but she actually said it was really good! my caprese toast was as delicious as it was gorgeous! the sourdough bread was the perfect taste and texture. the cheese was light and creamy. the tomatoes and greens tasted juicy, fresh, and springy, and the pesto plus the balsamic drizzled over the top was an utterly fantastic finish. we all finished every last bite!
the servers were attentive, sweet, and kind, but they seemed a bit scattered and confused with us today. i think there may have been some lack of communication. they were very busy, and three different people came to our table to ask about/bring our drinks and take our order. however, it was nothing that couldn’t be fixed! they were calm, polite, and helpful the entire time.
i really liked that they seemed to use less plastic at this place (i think). the lemonade was served in a little glass bottle, and the water did not come with straws. my sister went to the bathroom and she noted that it was nice. and their adorable mascot/logo is definitely super sweet!
all in all, i cannot wait to come here again. it was a lovely meal that i will be thinking about for...
Read moreWhen it comes to breakfast, this was my favorite, and I would always recommend it to all my family and friends. Not anymore. As I walked up to the door, I saw someone leaving, being a polite person I opened the door for them and as I walked in I was greeted with, " close the door, you're letting all the cold air out". The door was barely opened for 20 seconds, but okay. As I walked up to the podium, the host asked if you had been texted. I said no, I'm just walking in. Then he just pointed at a tablet and said sign in. I get it if the hostes are busy, but he wasn't. He was standing there the entire time as i was signing in. It is convenient with the tablet signing in, but what is the point of the host? A printed out sign can do their job. After waiting for roughly 20 minutes, we were seated. We chose to sit outside because the music was so loud inside, but that did not matter because it was loud outside my boyfriend, and i could barely hear each other. After another 10 minutes of not being able to talk to each other, we got to place our order in. Almost 30 minutes passed, and we got our food. My order was the Bearcats breakfast and a side of pancakes, which was an additional $6, I was highly disappointed. Spending $15 for 2 bacons, scramble eggs (which look like only 1 egg was used), and a 3 finger pinch of roasted potatoes. I can understand inflation, but I would still expect an adult portion, not for a toddler. If i knew my breakfast was gonna be still small, i would just order the pancakes. My boyfriends food was disappointing as well. He got the hot chicken plate. The chicken was cooked very well, but the amount roasted potatoes he got was less than what I got on my plate. I can't quite remember, but the description of the food, it said something about spinach, and there was nothing on the plate but chicken and potatoes. The Mac and cheese was interesting but too running with a tang to my liking. After finishing what they called a meal, the bill came out to $52 with 20% gratuity included. I understand if it was a party of 4 or more, but it was just the 2 of us. Overall, my experience of this place is out the window. I will never come back. I do not recommend this place at all. Do not waste your money...
Read moreHearing about this place I had to give it a try with my girlfriend. As I walked up to the door I was greeted by the hosts and servers that were walking by at the time with shut the door, you are letting all the cold air out. The door was barely opened for 10 seconds, but I just went along and went to the podium and asked for a table. The host asked if you had been texted. No hey, how you doing? welcome in, can I help you? No greeting whatsoever but I said no, I'm just walking in. Then he just pointed at a tablet and said sign in. I get it if the hostes are busy, but he wasn't. He was standing there the entire time as i was signing in. Having tablet signing in with the text alert is great but what is the point of the host? A printed out sign can do their job. After signing I waited roughly 30 outside in 95 weather we were seated and menus were handed to us. After 10 minutes of just waiting we got to place our order in. 20 minutes in waiting for the food, I notice a server ( not the host, because the host is busy doing what not) escorted a couple to the back while they wait for their table. There was shade and even water for the customer to drink while waiting for their table. The host NEVER mentioned that there was a waiting area in the back in the shade, where the are fans blowing to help the customer to stay cool. At this point 40 minutes passed, and we finally got our food. We ordered the Bearcats breakfast with scramble eggs which is $15 each. That breakfast comes with 2 bacons, eggs with roasted potatoes. Sounded great but what we got was nothing like the photos I saw in the reviews. What we got on each plate was the 2 bacons, 6 roasted potatoes( my girlfriend got 8), and scrambled egg ( which looked like only 1 egg was used). The amount of food that was given to us was not enough to fill anyone. After finishing the kids meal, the bill came out with 20% gratuity included. I understand if it was a party of 4 or more, but it was just the 2 of us. This was my first and last time...
