First time on Frenchmen St. and first time at this place (last Friday night) after years of being dragged to or stuck on Bourbon St. I loved it.

This is clearly not "the place" that people go when they are on this street (you know where it is because you seek out reviews). And there are tons of other places to go for an experience on this street. Thing is, we were a group. We came to see what was going on. Some places were packed. Others were playing music that was okay. This place was playing music that we were interested in and we could grab a seat. So, we went in.

The staff were great. I won’t say the pours were strong or the drinks were cheap, but they were fine for where we were. And the drinks were served with a smile. Remember: you are in a tourism zone, best labeled the ‘fun antidote to Bourbon St.’ or ‘NOLA’s answer to Haight-Ashbury, with better music and less crabs’. The band? Didn’t catch their name. But they were stellar, audience-focused, humorous, and thankful for whatever tips were left in their jar or beamed to their Venmo account. They acknowledged the audience, were having fun playing, and made our group feel like we landed in just the right place.

Sure, I would try to experience a few of the other ‘known’ places on this street. But I would be happy to come back here. And likely will. See? A first time experience can really make or break places in terms of what they remember and that to which they look forward.

M Stewy? You either had a bad night, made it a bad night, or look for bad nights. Try to enjoy life a bit more and whine a bit less. It will do wonders for you. Eduardo, you came to this place and were looking for ‘the best’ pizza?!?! Hmm. Think you made a mistake. Maybe you and Stewy should open your own place and really light it up. Imagine it. You spend a lot of money and then you really get . . . reviews. I imagine the two of you would have a bit of trouble with either of those things. But I am waiting for “Stewy & Eduardo’s So Awesome You Won’t Complain Everything Shack,” now serving frozen stuff from Costco. How do you get on the...

On Frenchman. Big place. Got some drinks and looked at the menu. You never know in tourist areas if food is any good. Looking at the menu... pizza, salads, tacos, burritos???? Iffy. Sketchy? Talked to an employee who recommended food and told us where the Brazilian chef worked before, which made us comfortable to order. I had a taco salad bowl and Honduran tamale. Babycakes had 3 tacos. The Honduran Tamale is wrapped in banana leaf. Different from Mexican tamales. Usually more masa, less meat. This had more masa, but a lot of pork inside. The creamy salsa verde was really HOT! The tamale was great, along with the Pico de Gallo and hominy, or rice? that it comes with. The beef taco salad was Awesome!! Except for the shell, which I'm guessing is a premade, baked shell. NOT GOOD!! The beef in it was not ground, it was chunks. GREAT!! NOT dry, Flavorful, mixed with lettuce, tomato, etc... with more salsa verde made it super... I tried Babycakes tacos, and the Chicken and beef were good. She did not like the pork and pineapple (it was passable to me). Prices on alcohol were kind of high, but it's Frenchman St. Only ONE washroom, no...

my girlfriend and I travel to New Orleans often to relax and have a little fun. over the last 4 times I've been dying to try this place. this past Monday night (1/15/18) we finally made it for the first time. we walked in I sat at the bar and immediately began looking at the menu. My girlfriend asked where the restroom was and the bartender (short blonde girl who never introduced herself) in a very condensing tone said "bathrooms are for customers only." at this point, I explained we had every intention of ordering food. she then said "it's right there" in the rudest way possible. we both had some choice words for her and we apologized for that, however this girls attitude singlehandedly ruined my experience at this establishment. I never get to try the crawfish tacos I been dying for almost a year to eat all due to her horrible service. I tried calling and speaking to a manager no one answers the number provided on Google. wish I could...

This place has two rooms, one is a bar/kitchen, the other a music hall and sit down w/bar. The band playing that night was instrumental only and they were good. We ate and drank as we watched the show. We looked at the menu while the band played on. I had the steak, chicken, and pork tacos, my battle buddy had the wings and another round of brewskowskis. Wish I could tell you the name of the band but the guy on the microphone mumbled and held it so far from his face we couldn't understand what he was saying. Regardless of that , the music was goooooood! The talent was there, and they looked like they were having fun on stage. The crowd got into the vibe, and the solos each member got to show off a little bit (except the drummer) hahaha!

Favela Chic In town for the first weekend of the 2025 New Orleans Jazz Festival, and after spending the morning and afternoon at the Festival I walked through Frenchmen Street (a few blocks from the French Market streetcar stop). The bar had just opened (it was around 6 p.m.) and the house band was tuning up when I walked past, as they covered the Allman Brothers’ Band’s You Don’t Love Me. Couldn’t pass that by, so I got an Abita and listened to the band for a few minutes. Awesome atmosphere, excellent sound system, and a very talented band. Bar staff was very cool, as was the selection of bar goods. Open air location, in the heart of Frenchmen Street – excellent vibe. Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Really 4.9 stars The food is good, really good. When you order the pizza ask them to leave in the oven for an extra 2 minutes to make sure the crust is completely cooked in the center. Smoothies are smooth, and the appetizers are fun (ask for an extra dipping sauce). fried catfish po boy is just right ... While I didn't see them on the menu somebody was enjoying crab legs, so check and see if those are in house when you go. the only reason it's 4.9 stars and not 5 is because it's not fast food you will have to wait a few minutes before you food is ready.
