Got to be the absolute worst service I've experienced in a very long time.
Arrived at least 5 mins b4 midnight, there were ppl in front of us. This was our 1st visit and menu is posted so u have to stand back to read it. We figured it out and were ready to order. When a male behind the counter told me the line had just closed and go order in the bar. Although, he was not rude when he said it. There was music playing, couldn't hear everything he said. I went over and told my sister (she was standing there waiting to order). Then asked cashier for clarification. She appeared to be counting her register. Cashier referred to same male and asked him. He basically said we could order at bar. We go to bar, waited for the female bartender and she informed us of the very limited menu, i.e. quesadillas with limited meat choices. She was ok, then went downhill by saying "I don't run the line." Needless to say we left and did not order anything.
Even though, the young man behind the counter wasn't rude in the way he said it...he knew what ordering at the bar meant. We were already there and had been there so long figuring out the menu even customers who were eating starting recommending things. So for them not to let us order, then send us to the bar where they were only serving one item...this is what upset me. How about a warning? Line is about to close...order now for full menu. I had looked them up on Google and walked straight there from my hotel...I was excited to eat here. Then for this to happen...SMH.
So my advice, make sure you order b4 midnight from the main line, if you want to try this restaurant. Something positive...place...
Read moreLet me start my review by saying I’m one of Felipe’s #1 fans. I dine with Felipe’s at-least twice a week and have been going to Felipe’s for the past 10 years.
That said; the N Peters location was disappointing to me in comparison to the mid-city and metairie locations that I frequent.
To start, there’s no sign on the outside of the building like there used to be.. which makes it very inconvenient to locate.
During my meal this afternoon, there was two instances of homeless people going around the restaurant harassing me and other customers for donations.. not very nice to experience when you’re paying to sit down and enjoy a meal.
The kiosks were down, and half the staff weren’t doing anything as there was no online ordering.. however the line was still ridiculously long.
I find that this location is less generous with portion sizes than other Felipe’s locations are, which could just be bad luck.
One thing that’s always bugged me is the fact that my vegetarian girlfriend has to pay the same price as I pay for a Chicken Quesadilla, for a tortilla with two slices of cheese on it. Please add a discount for people removing protein from their order!
Overall the food is decently consistent with other locations, and It’s some of my favorite fast-mexican food of all time. I think the N Peters location just has some...
Read moreI recently had the absolute pleasure of experiencing a happy hour like no other at Felipe's in the heart of the French Quarter, and it was all thanks to the incredible bartender Gabby. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warmth and a genuine smile that set the tone for an unforgettable evening.
Gabby's mixology skills are second to none, and her hand-squeezed margarita is a true testament to her craft. Served perfectly chilled with just the right balance of tequila, lime, and a hint of sweetness, this margarita was a refreshing delight that had me sipping it down far too quickly. It's not just a drink; it's a work of art that Gabby creates with passion and finesse.
And let's talk about those $2 tacos that perfectly complemented the drinks! Each bite was a burst of flavor that showcased the freshest ingredients. Whether it was the savory goodness of the ground beef or the mouthwatering Al Pastore, every taco was a mini culinary adventure.
In a world where remarkable experiences are cherished, Gabby at The French Quarter Felipe's shines brightly as a beacon of exceptional mixology, hospitality, and passion. Raise your glass to Gabby; she is the maestro who conducts symphonies in liquid form.
Bravo, Gabby, and thank you for a night that will forever linger in my heart and on...
