Run-A-Way BillRun-A-Way Bill
New Orleans, Louisiana --- My 2nd visit to the “Please-U-Restaurant” was such a reverse of my 1st visit in 2017. I updated my rating from 1 Star to 5 Stars! 👍 Super Server “Melissa” was sociable & efficient. Thank you very much “Melissa” and thanks to you I can guarantee, I will return. I was impressed with coffee served with a saucer. Kinda cool walking thru the kitchen to visit the either/or Men/Women restroom 👍 The biscuits and gravy were the same, but I will just make a different menu selection on my future visits. FREE on-street parking is available, plus on the streetcar route 👍 “Run-A-Way Bill” was here! ... and will return 01.16.21 ———————————— I enjoy knowing the “Please-U-Restaurant” has been serving food & smiles since 1946! In my quest for a breakfast diner with counter-seating (a "Run-A-Way Bill" Favorite), I discovered the "Please-U-Restaurant" on St. Charles (tourist zone) ... "Please-U-Restaurant" (since 1946) is a TOTAL disappointment ... No activity, only basic-of-basic service, and an owner that sits in the corner and does not reply to a "good morning" (but just walks by), and REALLY REALLY REALLY bad "sausage n' biscuits" ... wasn't even "sausage-flavored" ... bland white gravy with a "few" pieces of a frozen sausage patty (very few tasteless pieces) ... When in NOLA I recommend stickin' with the coffee cafes & their food selections (hint: HiVolt) ... day 041 "DUSA 2017" (Discover USA) "Run-A-Way Bill" was here! #RunAwayBill #DUSA2017 03.04.17 UPDATE: son on "non-sociable" owner "just" called me with this opening line after reading my Yelp review: "how dare you harass my dad!" my reply was, I only said "good morning to him" ... son then went into such a non-stop verbal attack on me for "harassing is 63 year old father" (that is mean calling his father "old" at 63 ... shame shame) 03.04.17

I discovered this Diner several years ago and absolutely love it. the food is terrific and reasonably priced.. Good hardy portions too. their Fried Catfish with Potato salad, vegetable and a green salad is excellent and lots of it too. I also, just yesterday, had their spaghetti and meatballs for the second time....... terrific. Huge portion so go hungry. the tomato sauce is out of this world. the service is good and very friendly. I will be heading there this friday for their Fried Catfish since it is Good Friday. Whenever I have friends in from out of town I always take them there to eat. I have never been disappointed. Also be sure to tell Adam hello. He is a very pleasant young man and very welcoming. Going there for me is like stepping back in time to a 1950's diner. I can't say enough about this place. give them a try. you will leave content with a smile on your face.

This place lived up to its name. It was quite pleasing. I arrived early and was able to sit anywhere. I didn't feel pressured to hurriedly order or leave. I was able to watch Good Morning America and feel at ease while I waited for my order. Based on the high reviews for waffles and chicken, I immediately ordered without needing the menu. The dish was wonderful. Perfect amount of meat and Belgium-style waffle. I write "style" because the waffle had the same thickness, but without the extra sweetness that would have ruined its compatibility with the taste of the chicken. Orange juice was not fresh squeezed yet it was delicious. Overall, worth leaving the normal touristic restaurants in the heart of New Orleans. FYI I parked behind the restaurant for free. I hope that was okay.

Please be aware that I'm pretty sure people are smoking inside of this restaurant. Although they do have pretty decent prices I would not consider going here for a cheap eat. I ordered a breakfast plate, my dad ordered a Belgian waffle and eggs, my mom ordered a turkey sandwich and my son ordered the shrimp basket. On my breakfast plate the pancakes were totally burnt and I asked for cheese in my eggs so they literally slapped on a slice of American cheese right on top, not melted at all. The eggs weren't hot enough for the cheese to melt so it was pretty gross. My mom's turkey sandwich looked like something that you would make at your house, nothing special at all. The shrimp in my son's basket tasted as if they were on the verge of going bad, not fresh at all. The only thing that was semi good was the Belgian waffle on my dad's plate. The look of the restaurant is extremely outdated, it's as if they tried to save the 60s diner appearance but let everything fall apart in the process. The waitresses were really nice though. But honestly I would not recommend anyone to eat here. I'm not sure if it's related or not because I eat at a variety of places, however the day after both my dad and I were very sick with some kind of stomach bug. I can't prove it was their food but it is the only thing that we can think of that we both...

We were in town for a family wedding and were looking for somewhere close to get breakfast and had heard that this was a good place to go. It was a hole in the wall. Our server obviously wanted to be doing anything else or be anywhere else than where she was. She was just going through the motions. Didn't say two words to us. I ordered a please u omelette with grits because afterall we are in New Orleans. I honestly can't remember what my wife ordered. The omelette was terrible. Everything was seriously overcooked. Also even though I had ordered grits the side that I got was I think hash browns? It isn't what I ordered so I had to guess. We had things to do that day so I didn't say anything. As our server brought us the check, I mentioned it to her and she was obviously bothered by it and asked if we wanted grits . This is as we were leaving. Granted I should have mentioned the mistake earlier, but her attitude was terrible. It wasn't all bad. The lady at the cash register was really nice and we talked for a while about where she was from, etc. Overall, they didn't live up to their name. I would save my money and go somewhere else for better food, better service and...
