I'd have given 4 stars before my last experience dining here in June...I hadn't been to We Dat's since I switched to a pescatarian diet and stopped eating chicken a bit over a year ago, but it used to be my favorite wing place in the city and I have dined here dozens of times since I have lived in New Orleans. But in June, I decided to treat myself to some wings for my birthday and went to We Dat's on Canal. I ordered a wing and fries lunch special and the lady taking my order said my card wouldn't go through, so she had to enter it manually. No biggie, happens sometimes. I enjoy my meal, head to the French quarter to walk around, then went home and was home by 5pm. Around 6 pm, I received a text notification that there was a purchase on my card at We Dat's for some $35 plus dollars. My order was like $12, so even if they accidentally ran my card twice, this wasn't adding up. I called to speak with the manager to ask why my card was charged again. I checked to make sure I didn't lose my card, I still had my card. He ended up viewing the security tapes and said it was a couple who made the purchase with my card info somehow. He assured me he would refund my money, however when I called my card company to report the charge I did not make, they had to cancel my card immediately. The manager says he refunded the charge I did not make onto my closed account...which isn't even possible...and told me there was nothing more he could do. He even had the audacity to tell me I should keep my cards in a scan proof wallet...which I di already lol I told him to tell his customers that I hope they enjoyed the meal I somehow mysteriously paid for after his cashier had to "manually enter" my card info. I will never go here or any of the We Dat's stores ever again after this experience. I lost $35+, but he lost a loyal...
Read moreI ordered a 10 chicken wings platter, with sweet chili sauce, french fries and soft drink. I paid around 18.34$. When my order number was announced I gave my invoice to the lady who handed me my order which was to go. I found that my order had only 6 instead of 10 pieces upon arrival to where I was planning to eat it. Few days later I reached to the manager or owner of the restaurant, I went their before lunch hour to avoid crowds. I explained what occurred for the manger and inquired if I can have the remaining four missing pieces. His customer service was not professional at all, he asked me for the invoice and I indicated that I handed it to the lady that called my order number. I offered to show him my bank account that shows the amount of transaction to the restaurant at the time and day am indicating. The owner/manger informed me that any one can come and makes my claims! I indicated that am not lying, and pulled my self out as His response was extremely disrespectful to me and his attitude showed me that I am not reaching any where with him. I approached him respectfully and I am a regular customer at this restaurant. An apology for my experience is the least expected, offering the missing 4 pieces is what a good restaurant and customer care would do or a discount for a future order. The food is good but the wait time, orders accuracy, troubles from other customers in the restaurant, and treatment of the manger for my indicated situation are all factors for me to not be in this...
Read moreSo I rolled into We Dats after a concert and towards the end of a Mardi Gras Parade. It was my first time there so I asked the gentleman at the register what sauce he recommended for my tenders. Without hesitation he said the “WUZZAM” sauce and to get the ranch fries to go with them. Quick side note, If you don’t know anything about NOLA, when you go into a local restaurant, get what they recommend, you will never go wrong. Fantastic food, hit the spot, the place was extremely busy and the folks there were working hard to get the food out, but not at the expense of rushing the food. The tenders and fries were piping hot and delicious. The tenders were made from real chicken breasts and were prepared perfectly. To me the “WUZZAM” sauce tasted like some combination of Buffalo sauce (maybe Franks Red Hot) sprinkled with some magical Nawlin’s voodoo spices, the combo was astounding and matched the Ranch fries to a tee. The prices were good, usually downtown you are going to pay quite a bit more for food, but I suspect they are able to offset their prices because they do so much business. They also give a military/first responder discount. In my opinion this was waaaay better than any big chain chicken restaurant. Give ‘em a try, I think you will be pleased. Last note, they had a bunch of other sauces to choose from, wings, and a nice selection of both alcoholic and...
