This is my first time visiting New Orleans (June 20, 22) and the first place I chose to dine. The restaurant was not busy, but there were a few tables already occupied. I ordered an appetizer of 12 wings and the catfish basket with shrimp fried rice. The appetizer arrived after my entre, which was odd. The rice was bland and undercooked! I asked my waiter Reese if he can exchange the rice for fries. He said he have to take my entire plate. I told him there is nothing wrong with the catfish and I can eat it while I wait for my fries. He said he had to take my plate. I didn't understand why that was necessary, but I gave him my plate. I ate 2 wings as I waited for my fries. I waited about 30 minutes for fries that take about 3 minutes to fry. Reese did not provide an update at all, but he walked past my table several times as he attended to other customers with and without food. I had to stop him and another employee to figure out why it took so long before I saw my fries. I requested to speak with a manager. She never provided her name. She said she is sorry and said the kitchen was busy with orders as if my order was not important. Meanwhile, there was a family of 12 next to me who had seafood boils and they arrived after I requested fries and they received their food with efficiency. The manager said she would give me a 10% discount and said Reece was not supposed to take my plate and just replace the item. My food finally arrived in a to-go box and they refried my catfish. That is disgusting! I told her and Reece if he was going to take all of my food the least they could have did was remake it. I told them I no longer want anything and remove that order from my bill. I never ate anymore wings, but paid for them. Reece came to my table with an attitude and said "I need this back" referring to the refried catfish. There was not a 10% discount either. The service was atrocious! The entire staff need more training and that was not how I wanted to be welcomed to New Orleans. I was really disturbed by his unprofessional customer service and attitude. The manager also said she didn't really know what to do except she was sorry.

If I could give this place a 0 star I would. The service was not at all what we expected for a highly rated restaurant. We had a party of 6, and we understand if restaurants want to apply the “automatic 18% tip” for parties of 6 and over, BUT as long as the waitress gives good service. Just because they get an automatic tip they feel like they don’t have to do as good as a job since their tips are already secured. When we got served our food we only got 4 plates and 1 singular crab cracker brought to us, we proceed to ask for more plates and more cracker tools, she went to the back and took an abnormally long time, our food was starting to get cold, so I stood up to ask the nearest server that was not occupied and they told me that they couldn't help me, they told me to sit down and wait until my waitress came to us, we told her that we have been waiting a long time and that the food was getting cold; annoyed she went to go look for her coworker. Our waitress came back with an attitude and handed our plates to us along with only ONE extra cracker tool, again, we were 6 at the table. We asked for more and again, with an attitude, she told us that they were $2 extra for each cracker tool. I wouldn’t have minded the extra cost, but the fact none of that was stated in the menu, nor did she tell us before bringing the other one was not at all right. She then proceeded to avoid our table, and we had to look for her for refills. We finished eating our food and the check was brought to us, we asked to talk to a manager about the “automatic tip”. We understand that servers work for tips, we just did not want to leave her an 18% tip for a mediocre service. We explained the situation we went through since we got there, to the manager and explained that we were going to give a cash tip, and asked them to remove the tip. The manager denied and said that the system did not allow it and that forcefully the 18% tip had to be applied on the card. The manager did not address the situation correctly, they kept defending their server saying that she was one of the best, no apologies were given for our situation, and they kept demanding that we HAD to pay the “automatic tip”. So then we asked for our card back in order to pay cash, But apparently they had already made the transaction. Such an awful...

I celebrated my birthday here and spent over $50 on my meal. The food was good. I had the seafood boil with two snow crab clusters, shrimp, corn, potatoes, sausage, and I added two boiled eggs. The boil was a little dry so I ordered more butter sauce for an extra $3 and the eggs were $2 because they weren’t included in the boil. My mom had a half and half shrimp/ catfish po boy which she enjoyed. Although the food was good, the service alone would not warrant my return. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. The floor was filthy and there was no hand soap. Upon realizing there was no soap I witnessed the hostess enter and start to wash her hands and I told her there was no soap and she turned off the water and left. I waited around thinking she would be bringing back some soap which she never did, which was even more disgusting. We waited a good 20 minutes for our server to come to our table. She did drop some waters off in passing while she tended to other tables. When we finally got to place our order, I changed my mind about the boil I wanted and I went immediately to ask her to change my order which she refused stating she had already put in the order which she had not. I immediately got her attention when she walked off and she did not get to the computer before I stopped her. She was rude and dry. I completely understand how busy she was so we were trying to be as easy as possible but she still treated us like a bother. She was clearly stretched thin and had multiple tables. When we received our order she did not return to the table except once and we waited another 15 minutes for the other items we requested. She did not check on us again and when we were finally ready for to go boxes and the check we had to search for her and wait even longer because she had disappeared. I try to be extremely understanding because I have been a server myself but this experience and customer service definitely lacked. Maybe we just caught the establishment on a bad night but this was a vacation/birthday meal I could have definitely...
