I love the folks that work the outside door - they ard so friendly and jovial! The dark gorgeous wavy haired young man who assisted me getting my ticket printed out was so calm, patient and experienced. A pleasure!!!!
The theater itself is so pretty and you can see how they take great care to have it sparkly and clean!
Now for the show. I bought an expensive 2nd row ticket to see Brian Regan. A little disappointed in the seating.. ... This is the only bad thing that i'm going to say about the orpheum....GUYS I felt like I was in an airplane seat. I really did. Very cramped. And when I say like an airplane I truly mean it. These were seats that could be adjusted quite easily they weren't attached to anything....
And I really should have complained but I didn't so thats on me... But when you have people coming in from all sides and even everybody was complaining. But nobody really complained to management.... I d k what's wrong with that thinking lol
Brians opening act was Kermit Apio - very funny guy but looked like he just woke up from a nap on sunday. Very down to earth really good timing he was so enjoyable..I do think people need to dress up a little bit when you have 2000 people in a Full House coming to see you perform. That's just my opinion it may not be worth anything but if he was going on the tonight show or something like that. I think he would definitely dress up. I sort of wanna be included in the "as important" also.
Now for Mr. Regan. hmph. I was such a huge fan this is hard to say. The first thing he did was to come out and say he wasn't gonna do any of his old stuff. He was going to try new stuff on us. (sad face) really?
All of the new material he did was ok with the exception of one or two that tanked.... and of course he made everybody laugh just talking about that fact.
I'm not sure how long Brian performed but Kermit came on at 715 did 20 minutes... and then Brian performed. I was walking back to my car at 820. If I had to give some advice I would say watch the...
Read moreWhen I started planning my wedding, the Orpheum was at the top of my list for reception venues. My husband and I met performing in the theater so we knew we wanted to have our reception in a theater. There are many theaters in New Orleans to choose from, but as soon as I walked in the Orpheum, I knew this was the perfect place for our wedding. I chose very early on to have a 1920s themed wedding reception. The Orpheum being a theater built in the 20s, made it the absolute ideal setting. I had a very clear vision in mind. I wanted our wedding reception to feel like a complete immersive experience. I wanted the night to have a clear flow from a 1920s jazz club to a banger of a party that could rival Studio 54. I had many things happening all night long. It was very much a production. Kelly was there every step of the way to make sure we had a flawless event. It absolutely could not have happened without her and her team. From our first meeting, she was open to all of my ideas and seemed genuinely excited for everything I had planned. From the sound, to the lighting, to the bar staff, to the production staff, every single thing was PERFECT. I cannot express enough how amazing Kelly and the staff at the Orpheum are. I couldn’t stop smiling all night. One staff member even came up to us to show his outfit because he dressed up for our 20’s theme. That made me so happy. They all seemed to really care about us and it showed. Our after party at the Double Dealer kept the party going even longer. Our guests have not stopped messaging us about what an incredible party it was. I can truly say our wedding reception would not have been the same had it not been for The Orpheum, Kelly, and the entire staff. They made my 1920s wedding dreams come true. I cannot thank...
Read moreMe and 6 of my friends attended a concert here, on May 4th. We walked to this theatre from a certain side of the street, and saw a line. So we obviously hopped in it, lol. We got to the front of the line and got our ticketmaster ticket scanned, bags checked, wrists stamped, so we went through 3 check points without any issues or without any staff causing problems. We got in line to get some merch, and arrived at the front of the merch line, only to begin being harassed by staff. We had accidentally gotten into the vip line. We genuinley did not know this is the line we were in, and we would've been happy to exit this line and go to the regular general admission line. However, the staff began yelling, calling us line skippers, and telling us we were 'disqualified" whatever that means, all in front of a whole room of people. We were so humiliated, all over a small accident that we didn't mean to do. The unprofessionalism of the staff at this theatre was absolutely unacceptable. The fact that not one staff member who was checking our bags and tickets realized we were in the wrong line... maybe your front door staff could use some extra training. It would be different if my friends and I were trying to get free stuff and sneak our way in to the vip section, but that wasn't the case. Not only did they yell at us inside the building, but also screaming at us while we were walking back to the general admission line, in front of 100+ people. Come to find out, there were three more concert goes this happend to as well, and your staff treated them the same way as us. Absoloutley unnacceptable. If you visit this theatre, make sure you dont make a mistake like humans do, you will be humiliated! Remi Wolf was...
