First time visiting and let me say this place was great. The atmosphere and decor was really retro which obviously fit the theme of the place. I like the fact they have an outdoor section that is enclosed. My friend and I ordered the smash-burger lunch special. She had fries with hers I had tater tots with mine. Let me just say the tater tots was the best part of the lunch special. The flavor and seasoning on it was incredible. I tried my friend’s fries and the fries were great as well. Definitely will recommend the tater tots though. As for the Smash Burger, I would say it was ok in my opinion. It wasn’t anything spectacular to me. Patty was really thin, (yes I know what a smashburger is I’m a chef) it wasn’t much sauce which tasted pretty good. I think what the issue could be is other reviews of people who say they don’t like much sauce on their food but that’s a preference sauce is key to a lot of dishes and it’s needs to be enough so you can taste the flavor of food it’s pairing with. You also get the option of a soda with the lunch special. So food wise I’ll give 4/5. Experience wise 5/5. I like the fact of seeing all the retro games I haven’t seen since I was kid and being able to play while eating. Manny my server convinced me to try a milkshake before I left. I got the Capt. N Crunch Milkshake. Let me say that shake this has me full till this moment while writing this review. The milkshake was really great as well. I definitely plan on going back to try their cheat code tater tots that Manny also says I should try that when I come back.
Overall, that’s why I gave my rating a 4/5 stars!!
Definitely recommend anyone...
Read moreInterested about this place when I've first seen it as a Yelp recommendation and off I went. First off, the atmosphere and aesthetic is incredible. It does have the vibe of an arcade parlor with a bit of discotheque with the multicolored floor panels. Service is also nice and orderly too. Sure it takes awhile for food to get prepped so the video games by your table is a good time killer while waiting for your food.
For the food as a whole, I ordered the Smashburger lunch special with fries and soda, a chickwich and a chocolate mountain shake on the side. The food, not outstanding was fairly decent. The fries which looked more like potato wedges were actually the better part of the meal, nicely seasoned and firm texture. The Smashburger was pretty good, but man it was messy. I think they overdid it on the sauce and the burger was kinda all over the place because of it. The chickwich, the chicken filet was good, but the sandwich had a heaping dose of egg in it and that threw me off. The chicken sandwich is fine without it, but it may be an aesthetic thing. The shake...it was OK. I did finish it, but the texture caught me off guard. It's basically a bowl of cereal (kinda like Cocoa Pebbles) grinded into milkshake form and I was not a fan of the grainy aftertaste. I can't really recommend it, I prefer my shakes smooth and thick.
All that aside, I'd hit up the place again, order something different and make my time on their...
Read moreI was taken aback at how small the place was but no big deal really. I gave this place a one star because of the manager. She was very rude and unaccommodating. After spending close to $200 you would think she would be. The manager was in charge of making the milkshakes. When I say mine was the most disgusting milkshake I have ever had is an understatement. My sister said hers was gross as well. I explained to the cashier that something is wrong with my milkshake. It tasted like skim milk and wiped cream. Nothing like the flavor I ordered. I asked can it be made over or a different one that she makes well cause that was not it. The cashier turned to the manager and asked can I do that. She shook her head no and walked out. I was so confused. So I walked out and asked her whats the issue. She says “Im not going to change it just because you don’t like it” I explained that the shake was disgusting and no shake should taste like skim milk and wiped cream. She says “No thats not my problem, I’ll give you your money back”. I simple said ok. That interaction was so bizarre. I completely understand that the food service is a rough industry, been there done that. However even on bad days your professionalism is suppose to kick in. I was polite and kind. I did not deserve her attitude and embarrassment over a milkshake, as this conversation was happening outside...
