New Carrizal Restaurant — Restaurant in New York

First off, I BOUGHT FOOD and DINED-IN there SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE, and I ordered food from this restaurant a few days ago, and the food was really good. (EXCEPT for the $16 FRIED SHRIMP, that was FRIED WITHOUT BATTER or FLOUR, and was REALLY DRY and REALLY BLAND) 😖

Ordered last night, for the 4th of July. The woman on the phone was very rude, when taking my order, and asked angrily, "Whadda U want??"😕

I almost canceled my order, but I gave her a chance. Figured she might be tired, or just ignorant about proper phone etiquette, professionalism, or the English language, since she spoke with a Spanish accent. (Plus, I was HUNGRY!!!)

Long story short, my food was delivered incomplete (Paid for 3 meals, got ONLY 1 PLATE of Yellow Rice), and the Fried Fish and Red Beans were EXTREMELY SALTY, and the plantains were BLACK and BURNT, and the Roast Pork was VERY DRY, and looked about 3 DAYS OLD!!!!!

To top it all off, the woman refused to let me speak with the Manager, and hung up the phone, after cussing in Spanish, when I called back and asked about my MISSING FOOD.

The food was SO SALTY, that it made my NOSE BLEED!!!!!!! 😵

I WILL NOT BUY FOOD from Carrizal...

**UPDATE: Apparently not EVERYONE in this place is friendly. I have been supporting Carrizal throughout the pandemic as much as possible. Went in the other day and the older lady serving the food was very unfriendly and rude for no reason. The food was still good and I made the purchase anyway...but definitely not cool when customers are sympathizing with your loss of business over the past couple of months and trying to purchase as much as possible to help out!

I could slap myself for not reviewing this place sooner! Sooooo delicious😋 I want to literally walk in back and shake the hand of each cook. My favorite order is the $25 meal special: 1 whole rotisserie chicken, 1 POUND of pork, huge amount of rice, beans, salad, and a 2 liter soda. It feeds a family of 4 easily. But, if you're just a greedy couple....or 2 roommates/friends...this meal can last for days. Sometimes there is a line when you go in but the staff moves super fast and everyone is friendly. Try this place... you will...

I use to love going to this place, their food is delicious (especially the rice with peas), however I went by there yesterday and their prices have changed again! They are simply guessing prices off the top of their heads without giving thought to what was ordered. What's more, is that when I looked for their grade in the window, their grade was a 'B' which is DEFINITELY not acceptable! There are too many people working in there for them to not have an 'A'. Please people watch where and how you are spending your money. I admit it was my fault for not checking their grade before I ordered. But now that I know, I will NOT be spending any more money there. If people are going to come in our neighborhoods and serve food, then they should be just as adamant about cleanliness as they are about overly charging their customers. YOU'VE BEEN...
