Incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful librarians (and assistants)! I've been to this location quite a few times; overall, it is a nice quiet place to read and study. 😊 Most people that come into this location are respectful of using this space as intended: a library/study/research space. And most adult (and teenage) clients are quite considerate of the people around them and do not create an unpleasant or otherwise uncomfortable atmosphere by making loud and unnecessary noise such as taking phone calls; not using headphones with their laptops, cell phones, and other devices; having personal conversations; and/or allowing their children to run around screaming like it's their own home. The wifi here is excellent. There are lots of computers and tables/chairs with outlets that allow for ample personal space. I also very much appreciate that this location is very clean and well-maintained; has an excellent selection of non-fiction, fiction, graphic novels and manga; has community rooms downstairs; has excellent lighting; and maintains a very comfortable temperature despite not being a "new and fancy" building. Definitely a great neighborhood/community library that is safe and welcoming for all people....
Read moreA pit, an absolute PIT. A roofing job that started YEARS ago has yet to be completed. A staff that not only seems to think it's OK to gossip with the security guards in loud voices, banging of hands on furniture, etc., but also seems to think it's OK for the "patrons" to do the same.
When the junior high on the same block lets out at around 3pm, the place turns into an absolute asylum: teens running amok as if it were some "community center". While the staff DOES NOTHING. Babies screaming & crying. TONS of chair scraping and slamming. Wifi as slow as 1986 dial-up after YEARS of "promising to fix" .... The list goes on & on & on.
Notice almost all of the 5-star reviews are anonymous. There's a reason for that. They're fake. More than likely the staff's too idiotic to think that not one could obviously tell they're fake. Standards to be a librarian certainly have been dragged-down to the lowest common denominator. Take it from me & avoid this place like the plague.

Read moreGreat library. I moved to this area recently and come here several times a week. Usually around 4pm and it's never overly crowded. I always borrow a laptop and theres space to sit. The staff is very nice and helpful. In the morning/early afternoon there is obviously less people due to kids being in school still, but again even after school you'll have a place to sit. I actually see more adults than kids here lol.
They have a small selection of books in comparison to larger library but a great variety(better than the one on bushwick) .I always find books to borrow and they always have new displays up depending on theme(back history month, gay pride, musicians etc)
They have dvd's, pc's to use for adults and children, 10 cent printing and free wifi. Only thing I wish they would change is having longer hours. I'm used to libraries staying open until around 8/9, they usually close at 6pm except Wednesdays when they...
