This had happened a few months ago around November but I never got the chance to express myself about it because I was in disbelief that this incident even occurred. I previously have visited this location with friends and had an amazing time but after getting some tacos within the area we had a bottle of water on us prior to our meal. While walking into the bar the security guard had forgotten about the water bottle that was visibly in my hand so I had thought there was nothing wrong about bringing the bottle in. 10 minutes pass by while me and my partner are playing games and I am approached by the security guard who automatically accused me of sneaking liquor in with my water bottle and causing a disturbance in the bar (this was told to him by the manager), I was so appalled by this because at most we were excited while playing the games just as everyone else was and we have yet to take a single drink of liquor that whole night we had just entered the bar. I insisted for the security guard to smell the bottle or even my breath just to reassure him that we are sober or even wouldn’t have thought to sneak a bottle full of liquor in but instead he kept saying this is all information he’s hearing from his manager. After scanning the room and realizing we were the only people who had a darker skin complexion it all clicked together in my mind and I was immediately disgusted with this business and decided to leave. I refuse to go back into this establishment, the audacity of this business to come into a predominantly black community and display passive...
Read moreWonderville is a unique place of positives and negatives. On the positive, the vibe is awesome. Unique hand made games by community members! A concert stage that pumps out great techno when a good dj plays. The crowds are very queer and tech literate, the drinks are tasty and not too expensive and there's a big outdoor area where u can smoke or vape. But on the downside, I found the bartenders far more interested in their friends and potential dates than taking your drink, there are some annoying 'Bro types who show up and hit on you... and the games... I love videogames but most of these aren't worth more than a glance. Most remind me of a gaming design students first project that got placed in a cabinet. They're mobile game quality and not very complicated. No Tekken or street fighter here. With a couple of exceptions I got bored and gave up on 90% of the games after a single try. They have one cabinet in a hallway that has modern games on it, but the focus is on the diy stuff. If that's your jam it's great but if not it's underwhelming. I do like the bars dedication to a unique art form but wish there were better, more well known indi games, and I wish the bartenders were actually interested in...
Read moreIf you don't want to ruin your night, then I suggest avoiding this place. The male bartender won't take your drink order if you're an Asian male. If you're not, you will still wait for hot 30 minutes because this guy decides that his friend's side drink orders and chit chat, is more important than everything else.
I sat in front of the white male bartender for 30 minutes and this guy starts helping other white people who literally walked in 5 minutes before me. Girls go first? fine. I'm ugly so you don't want to serve me? You'll never say no to more tip. Made eye contact to signal for service. So the only reason why this doofus decided to not serve me was because I was Asian. I was respectful, didn't complain, gave them SO MUCH patience. I never walked out of a place in my life until tonight. If you're Asian, just straight up avoid this place, you're not...
