Amaru Bar — Restaurant in New York

I frequently enjoyed coming to this place years ago and decided to come back and celebrate a birthday. A former bar employee convinced me to celebrate in the downstairs “private” section as I will be closer to the bar and have a section for my family and friends. Well, it turns out the owner/manager (not sure) was intoxicated that night, Bartender literally in front of me telling his friends it's okay for them to come into my reservation. Perhaps I shouldn't have let that bother me, but it defeats the purpose of making a reservation and purchasing a bottle; if I'm going to be crowded in with random people. If 1-2 people, I wouldn't of minded, but it was more. And on top of that bar wasn’t as full to say hey we need more space. The bald guy, who I believe is the bar manager, has no customer service skills and is rude. Instead of apologizing and admitting their wrong, he is angry at me for complaining and tells me he never told me the whole section was indeed reserved. Does that even make sense? I was initially pleased they had set up chairs and stools for the number of people in my party but their friends came in and took up most of them. So yeah, you make a reservation, and suddenly at 1am an area within the reservation isn't included to accommodate their friends. What kind of nonsense is that? I know it's a bar but I believe they can still be professionals and much needed training on customer service skills. For sure not the same as way back then and don't plan on returning. Unfortunately the nostalgia of so many good times...

I truly enjoy this place i love the diversity in music and im always dancing but i just dislike this one bartender whos always so rude and nasty , as if he doesnt want to service anybody truly disgusting attitude i didnt want to tip him for his bad service but he demanded his tip and just told me he was adding it to my card he has to goo !! Managers need to get there bar tenders in check because its been 3 times getting this type of service with him and ive tried to change my bartender multiple times but hes always there making...

My girlfriend introduced me to this amazing place. They have decently priced drinks that absolutely do the job, the kitchen has some pretty good dishes like their signature arroz chaufa which I highly recommend we eat it every time we go and it never disappoints. They have a backyard which you can for a quick smoke and pop back in and watch sports on their big screen and some great music to set the mood for the night! Will be going back 5/5 service for the...
