As a previous waitress/hostess and having only one experience here-I'll explain why the review isn't good. It was during the last hour or two of the opening hours and we had 6 people as one of the very few people who were in the restaurant. The waiter was very unprofessional and would have us help him use his POS to put in our order. Although he kept a happy face-you don't have people use the system for you. That's similar to having someone write down their order for me when I worked with just a notepad and not an iPad. Another major problem was the total inaccuracy of the order.
Not only did we guide what needed to be added but the guy didn't bring what we needed. He brought us extra coke but not the milkshakes and didn't leave ice out. He didn't bring any of the condiments (yet the bartender brought us them within less than a minute of asking them) and he ended up just eating a burger in the back while we were waiting for the food that ended up cold. If you're working on a table, you don't take a break if you have a table. That or another server should cover you when you're on break. A cold burger is the last thing someone wants after a hard day at work and is just a bad image.
When the last entree came (onion rings), they were obviously poorly made and had only 3-5 rings compared to the photo that shows around 10.
One thing that definitely was a pet peeve and makes customers feel uncomfortable is how the waiter just left the plates there and no other staff helped. The waiter left the menus too so it just felt cramped when there were a bunch of empty plates and menus scattered around the table. I started stacking them but that's the job of the waiter...not the customers.
Not to mention that getting the table itself was pretty difficult. Although it was slightly busy when we came-the place became empty quick and it took them forever to give us a table and us even having to move the kids table closer.
Mind that this place is expensive too as if they are a high end restaurant. One thing I am positive of is that their appetizers were nice and they make a good...

I completely understand that today is Memorial Day and that local restaurants are overwhelmed with customers. However, I want to share my experience at Applebee’s on Emmons Avenue in Brooklyn.
After a 40-minute wait, we were finally seated — but unfortunately, the only table available was right next to the restroom. When we politely asked to be moved, we were told there was nothing else available. Again, we get it — it’s a busy holiday.
Now to the highlight: the server. Despite being incredibly busy and seemingly the only one covering multiple tables, he was friendly, fast, and attentive. Same with the guy at the bar. They both deserve 5 stars for their attitude and effort.
But my real complaint is directed at the kitchen and management.
The food was just bad. Over-salted, dry, and drowning in pepper. We ordered several “All You Can Eat” shrimp plates — shrimp was okay, but the French fries were low quality. The ribs and chicken were extremely dry. Burgers were fine, but the chicken pasta was inedible. It was so overloaded with pepper that even my son, who just returned from four years of military service and can usually handle anything, couldn’t eat it.
Also, the salads that were supposed to come with our meals were completely missing. If you’re no longer including salad with the “All You Can Eat” options, it’s better to update the menu to avoid disappointment.
A message for the owner: if you’re serious about maintaining a good reputation, please consider hiring more kitchen and floor staff during holidays, or limiting the number of guests with a waiting list. Today’s visit was a clear sign that the restaurant wasn’t ready for this kind of rush.
Sadly, we won’t be...

In Brooklyn's sprawling culinary landscape, where flavors from around the globe converge, one might hope that even chain establishments would rise to the occasion. Yet, at Applebee’s on Emmons Avenue, the experience is a stark reminder that ubiquity often begets complacency.
Upon entering, the ambiance is as expected: a cookie-cutter design that offers no surprises. The menu, a compendium of American casual dining staples, promises much but delivers little. The Bourbon Street Chicken & Shrimp, ostensibly a nod to New Orleans zest, arrives devoid of any discernible seasoning, leaving one to wonder if the kitchen’s spice rack is merely ornamental.
Service oscillates between indifference and inattentiveness. On one visit, a bartender’s attentiveness was overshadowed by management’s brusque demeanor, casting a pall over the dining experience. On another occasion, the waitstaff seemed to have mastered the art of disappearance, leaving patrons in prolonged periods of neglect.
Consistency, a hallmark of any reputable establishment, is conspicuously absent. While some patrons have lauded the Thanksgiving offerings, these fleeting moments of adequacy are drowned out by recurring reports of subpar service and lackluster cuisine.
In a borough teeming with gastronomic delights, Applebee’s on Emmons Avenue serves as a cautionary tale of settling for the familiar. For those seeking a meal that transcends the mundane, it’s advisable to explore the myriad of local eateries that Brooklyn so...
