I'm HOOKED! This place is so good. I've been here twice and both times have been incredible. I happen to stumble upon on Guacuco on my way home. I was with my mother and her two friends and they were famished. So I pulled over as soon as I saw the cute little restaurant and parking spot!
I had the Parrillada which is a combination of chicken and steak. This arepa is my favorite! I do tend to drench my arepas with the green and pink sauces on the table, I cant help it. The green sauce has cilantro and lime. The other is a ketchup/mayo combo. I also tried my mother's arepa, the Pernil. Great pick also.
My second time around i had another Parillada (because i cant get enough) and also tried the chicken. I'm not a fan of the chicken. It's a tomato based chicken. If it were grilled chicken, i'm sure it'd be delicious. Any who that was my sister's pick and she loved it. It depends on your taste...

Ordered a specialty bread thatâs known for being a staple in the Venezuelan Christmas dinner and to have my American extended family enjoy a piece of my culture, prepaid it in advance, traveled 30 min to get it and they âdidnât have me on their order listâ so be it... all they did was apologize, didnât even offer to make me something else to bring home when they know how important that is for any Venezuelan and specially during this difficult times. Their approach to service is the same from back home; they look at you like you made the mistake and they just expect you to just be cool with that. In no way trying to make you somewhat better about their mistake. What a disappoint, because I would like any Venezuelan business in the state to thrive, but hope this helps them understand that they have to step...

I was here before and the food was great. Still, about a week ago I visited the restaurant again and I must say they have improved! Their cachapas are soooo delicious and the staff was so nice and understanding. I was there with a group of people and we ordered food for pickup; they were about to close and we changed our mind and wanted to seat. It was no worries! they were polite and understanding enough to let us stay for a little. Thank you so much!!! I'll be back!

Iâm Venezuelan and this is the closest that it can taste to the food that I had back in home. I recommend the ham & cheese empanada, the tequeños and cocada. They also have a very friendly staff. I loved it. Definitely the best place for Venezuelan food that Iâve been in NYC. Unfortunately theyâve run out of cachapas by the time I went. Iâll be back...
