Super 8 by Wyndham Brooklyn Williamsburg — Hotel in New York

I give it a 2 because the room was cute but quaint and clean. That's on first entrance. It should get a 0 because we checked in at about 4, checked out the room, turned on the heat, and went about our business. Luckily we didn't leave anything in the room, because when we got back we were hit by the stench of cologne and the heat was turned off. I thought no harm, nothing was taken, so whatever. Later I got into bed, and there was that stench again on the comforter. Someone had been in the bed and they made it back up. I immediately attempted to call the front desk, but the phone was dead because it seems that the cord was pulled from the wall. I called from my cell to complain and request another room. Reception changed my room quickly, it smelled great, like what my original room smelled like the first room when we first got there ||The next (this) morning, i spoke to management, and is response was that he will speak to the staff to see who was in there. That never works, who is going to admit that they were in someone's bed?||I stayed here because I needed to get away from the crazy of my home, I live 15 minutes away. ✅Newly renovated ✅ One of the staff did have a good attitude about helping me replace the coffee maker

❌no hot water all 3 nights we stayed ❌Shower door doesn't close from bad installation ❌No breakfast ❌The first room had very bad wifi, and at first the owner didn't want to deal with it, we had to insist and with the help of another friendlier staff he reluctantly switched rooms for us ❌Owner has a unpleasant attitude and told us to "leave a good review" when we checked out

Other minor annoyances: no accessible outlet at the desk, no TV, no towel hanger, no breakfast (they said due to grand opening), maid talking loud on the phone in the hallway in the morning, phone wasn't working, door key stopped working after 2 days and had to be replaced, nightstand lamps having harsh daylight bulbs
