I come to this restaurant every time I'm in the area for breakfast and dinner with friends and the food is always on par (burgers always overcooked though.) The service is either on par or spotty. The wait staff is always kind and friendly but can be un organized during a small rush of customers.
Tonight on the other other hand was one of the worst experiences I've ever endured at a restauruant. We were sitting out back at the picnic table. There was a movie playing and a few other tables of people out there as well so the noise of the atmosphere was moderate to loud. Regardless of our own tables noise from conversation, the movie, and other tables we were disturbed by a man named "Alan bustillo," the head chef was yelling at the employee who was in charge of the oyster station. Talking down to him, treating him like he wasn't a human being. After watching him lay into this poor man for over 15 minutes we had to ask one of the servers to ask him to stop yelling at the man. After the server walked over and said something he turns around at us, laughs and sais "I don't give a s#!t, this is my restaurant and this is repremanding," and walks in to the kitchen.
The server came over and apologised again for his behavior and said there was no manager around to speak to us.
After this experience tonight I and my friends who come here more than twice a week refuse to step back into this establishment until ALAN, the Ill manored "executive chef" "this is my restaurant" is gone. Apparently he doesn't have any part in the ownership of this place. Being a previous restaurant owner, employee, and chef I know this behavior should be dealt with zero tolerance. I really hope something is done because I'm sure the attitude, personality, and values of the chef do not reflect the those...
Read moreThis restaurant used to be a favorite date spot for my girlfriend and I a few years back, however, it seems the food quality has decreased significantly. We started our meal with an order of the French onion soup and a side of asparagus. We were disappointed to receive a plate of asparagus that had virtually none of the balsamic glaze and cheese that used to have, and a French onion soup that was not nearly hot enough or good enough for the price.
Next came our steaks. These two orders of steak frites were completely tasteless. On top of this, the meat was also not tender, and was fairly overcooked for both of our orders.
I want to stress that there was nothing wrong with the service. Our server did his job just as well as any other. We simply left very disappointed having paid just shy of $160 for a meal that was not worth remotely that amount of money. (Also prices online are outdated. Expect to pay more for your meal than what you think youâre going to. Another...
Read moreWent here for the first time and to celebrate a 20th anniversary. Everything was perfect. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. He helped us choose wines to go with our entrees and made sure we had everything we needed.
Better yet, the food was exceptional. My partner had the duck, and I had the seafood pasta (which left me with leftovers for lunch đ). I was surprised that there was nothing even slightly imperfect. From the cheese and bread to the greens and meals. The duck was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The seafood was tender and delicious. The pasta was al dente and just enough to complement.
Because we were celebrating, we also indulged in the chocolate mousse. The whipped cream was likely out of a can, but the lightness of it helped balance the richness of the mousse, which unmistakably used the best chocolate.
We canât wait to have another reason to celebrate and indulge. We will be saving up, as this was not an inexpensive night out. But it...
