Absolutely abysmal service. Had an 11am reservation on Saturday. At the time I made my reservation on Resy, there was only one time slot left to book and it did not state that 11am still constitutes as "breakfast" and thus seating in 'The temple room' not the atrium, not to mention a much smaller menu. Brunch starts at noon here which feels absurdly late and is not stated anywhere on their website. They advertise both online and on Resy jazz brunch all weekend. What that really meant was at 11:58am the jazz band is racing in one by one and warming up their instruments in the Temple room - not ideal for ambiance. Upon being seated in the temple room at 11am I asked if we could be moved to the atrium because it was over half empty. They told us no because they needed the table at 12:30 and it wouldn't be enough time. I ask if we can order from the brunch menu instead of the small lackluster breakfast menu and they said yes. Also had to ask for a cocktail menu at the hostess stand at this time because they only gave our table of 5 people 3 breakfast menus and no drink menus upon being seated for a half empty restaurant - so bizarre for "fine dining". Fast forward to needing to flag down our waiter twice to place drink orders. They forgot about our bar drinks for a solid 30 minutes and finally had to ask them to bring them and you could tell they were sitting melting at the bar that whole time. Coffees were delivered with no cream and sugar, didn't arrive until several minutes after asking - with no spoons. Finally place our food order and the waiter said we can't order off the brunch menu because it's not 12pm yet - told him the manager at the hostess stand said we could and gave us the menus. He went to check and came back and said our food wouldn't come out til 12:15 - 45 minutes later if we did that. We all changed our orders and order from the breakfast menu. Our food still didn't come out until 12:11 :))))). We were freaking over it and ate the bland food quickly to get the hell out of there and were gone by 12:30. Could have just been seated in the atrium like I originally asked EASILY. Still empty tables when we left in there. Had to beg for hot sauce and ketchup, they only brought hot sauce when we were halfway done already. Asked again for ketchup and was brought the smallest dish of all time with legitimately a quarter sized dollop of ketchup. This place is an absolute joke and felt literally robbed paying a close to $300 breakfast bill after that service and experience (only 2 cocktails were ordered so that was for 5 entrees and a few coffees). Go literally...
Read moreWe came to the Beekman Bar Room for the first stop of my girlfriend's birthday weekend world tour, as it is the most beautiful setting for a restaurant I have been to in NYC.
We were seated in the middle of the atrium in huge lounge-like chairs that I would expect to be in my grandpa's house. After trying to get comfortable in these odd chairs for such a classy setting, I finally settled in and scanned my surroundings.
Looking down on us were floors of venetian architecture stacked up on each other as far up as you can see, with a skylight at the top to tie them together. It has an authentic 70s New York feel to it.
Around us were foreign hotel guests, finance bros, and some pretty cute couples all dressed classy as hell. That's one of my favorite things about this place, how classy everyone dresses. You'd be wildly underdressed here in jeans and a tshirt, and I love that. I miss when nicer places had dress codes, idk.
I ordered a vesper, as I had just gotten a new suit jacket from Marshalls and I was feeling like James Bond in this setting. I just felt cool ordering it. "Oh yeah just a vesper for me..." just all casual and nonchalant.
I know you don't care and I'm getting off track here, but the Marshall’s suit jacket had been marked down to $60, with the original price being $300. Honestly, they could just be making that original price up. I'm such an easy get with that. Sometimes I just want to feel like I won...
My Vesper did the trick and I felt like 007, especially with my baby looking FIRE. We ordered Shishito Peppers ($21), 6 oysters ($25), Waygu Burger ($33), Hanger Steak ($39).
When those shishito peppers came I couldn't help but laugh as they should have been $7 for that portion. $21 is CRAZY for some peppers. The food was decent, but honestly just a little uninspired. Nothing was bad per se, but nothing is making me want to WRITE. You feel me?
I'll just leave you with the Beekman Bar Room is the PERFECT place in NYC to dress up a little bit, grab a few cocktails and order a side of the fingerling potatoes. Those fingerling potatoes make me want to WRITE.

Read moreI had a great experience at The Bar Room at Beekman.
First, I want to highlight the charming qualities of the entire property. Upon entering the lobby, you are greeted by a kind and polite doorman who directs you to the front desk. Whether you're staying at the hotel or just joining The Bar Room for drinks at the bar or a snack at the tables, or even dining at Chef Daniel’s restaurant, La Gratin, you are in the right place.
The ambiance is absolutely stunning. With high ceilings, dim lighting, and sophisticated music, it creates a relaxing atmosphere to unwind after a long day.
We were seated by a friendly and professional hostess. Our server was a young lady who seemed to be one of the lead servers, as she managed several tables. Her knowledge of the food and beverage menu was impressive. Since we were looking for a snack after a late lunch, she provided excellent recommendations. The drinks were good; my cocktail was slightly sweeter than usual for a gimlet, but it was still well made. The wine selection is also impressive.
For food, we ordered a cheese board, which came with crostini, honey, and nuts. I must admit that the presentation could be improved. Given the variety of cheeses, it would have been better to serve them on a board rather than a regular plate, with the additional components in ramekins for better preservation. We also enjoyed a spicy dip that was excellent.
Overall, it was a great snack in a much better...
