Came to this nondescript Japanese restaurant before The Hellp concert as we were looking to take full advantage of the $3 beer hack that runs all night, every night.
This place is pretty authentically Japanese: the waitress asked if we wanted one of the booths that only had floor seating, they don't even have an English name on google maps, and the bathrooms had bidets. I can't understand for the life of me why we don't make that common practice here stateside. Bidets are so clutch.
We ended up getting 3 Sapporos each, as this $3 beer is the gift that keeps on giving. It's busting up inflation.
We split the shrimp tempura appetizer that was pretty decent, and got a sushi roll each. The sushi was pretty mid, but that was my expectation walking in. My Spicy tuna roll was 6/10. I should have got the udon, but if there's one thing about me I learn from my mistakes.
I will absolutely be back here for that $3 Sapporo beer that inflation sees in its nightmares.

I would say, if you order a la carte sushi off-menu, it's not as price efficient at $5 a pop, but the salmon nigiri I got was super fresh and the rice was perfect (just-made and slightly warm, seasoned perfectly). Also you better get the whole crew drinking if you order the green tea since they serve it a carafe at a time at $7.
I also like ordering their karaage and gyoza, and I used to (I hope they bring this back to their menu) get their Takowasabi (raw octopus in wasabi marinade) but that's a bit of an acquired taste.
Selfishly I would love if the place stayed like this and not get super busy but I gotta give praise and credit where...
Read moreAn amazing find after checking out Momofuku across the street. This place makes you feel like you are in Japan with small tables, tables where you take your shoes off and Japanese staff. The service was amazing as you'd expect with a lot of bowing and smiles (I love the bow). The menu is extensive which boasts among others ramen, sushi and sashimi and very affordable prices - it is unbelievable for what you get! The sushi is fantastically made and incredibly delicious. A platter of it for one looked like a good shout for a lunch. The ramen was incredible and flavoured perfectly. We also enjoyed some gyoza which were again delicious. If I lived in the area I would be in every week and if I had the...
