To anyone looking at the reviews, Pasta de Pasta has been engaging in review manipulation. They advertised a promotion today for the opening of this location where they were offering free pasta. A ton of people showed up, so it was a super long line.
After waiting in line for 3 hours (I know, way longer than I really should have, but by the time I realized, it had already been a while standing in line and I fell victim to the sunk costs fallacy), I went up to order. At this point they revealed that they were only giving people the pasta in exchange for a review (something that absolutely was not advertised). Furthermore, you had to physically show them the review on your phone or they would refuse to give anyone their food. So you couldn’t even try the food to see if it was any good first before reviewing it.
And ALSO, it had to be a 5-star review. Somebody next to me showed them a 4 star review (pretty decent for food you haven’t even been able to try), and they refused to give her her food until she changed it to 5 stars. They legit were like “Why did you give 4 stars, huh? It has to be 5 stars” Weirdly hostile imo but I digress.
I was super tired after standing in line for 3 hours in the cold so I just left the review in order to get the food but I felt super icky about it. Honestly I wish I’d just left right then and there. They also forgot about me and I was standing there for like 10 minutes while they were giving everyone behind me their food (after they showed proof of 5-star reviews lol). Also the guy behind the counter was scooping up the pasta with his bare hands instead of like, a spoon. Not bowls of pasta, like literal clumps of cooked pasta. By the fistful. If that matters at all to you.
As for the actual food? It was fine. Like it wasn’t anything special. The word “mediocre” comes to mind. You would probably be better off eating Barilla at home. It wasn’t necessarily worse than that would be, but it certainly wasn’t better. It was edible, I guess. Maybe a solid 3 stars on a good day. I ate a few bites once I got home but in all honesty I’m probably going to throw the rest out and have peanut butter toast for dinner instead.
As for my final (real) verdict, I said 3 stars but I’m taking away one in this review for the dishonesty, manipulation, general shadiness, and the bare hands thing.
It’s not the worst thing that ever happened to me by any means but I def won’t be going back. I guess it’s true what they say, you get what...

Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken
In the lower east side is a casual Italian restaurant specializing in an assortment of pasta dishes. In addition to indoor seating, they have a well kept outdoor yard where you can enjoy your meal on a summer or fall day. If your phone is low on battery power, management conveniently allows you to rent a charger.
While the general atmosphere of the restaurant is up to standard, their entrée is not.
The pasta alone was fine, but it could have used some more alfredo sauce.
When I requested the chicken for an up charge, I thought it was understood that the chicken also would also be mixed with alfredo sauce. (I’ve been to my share of Italian restaurants and they had always been the case.)
Apparently, they have a quaint version when adding topoings. The pasta was combined with alfredo sauce and the chicken was mixed with neapolitano sauce. This practice is not recommended as having two separate sauces on the same entrée severely compromises the taste.
The chicken was freshly served off the skillet, but the poultry was not seasoned well resulting in a bland taste.
While I acknowledge the decent seating in the restaurant as well as offering a convenient service for those in need of phone power, I really can’t say there will be a next time. “Hasta la pasta, baby!”
