UPDATE:
It is with a heavy heart that I have to change my review from a five-star to a two. I went here with my buddy for a second time because of the positive experience that I had previously. Needless to say, I was incredibly disappointed this time.
our table was Iargely ignored for about 10 minutes when we got there. there was a waiter with a gold chain tapping at the cashier .we asked for some help, he muttered something and then he walked away.
It took over an hour for my friends starter to arrive. We had to keep reminding the waitress and then the manager, and while they seemed genuine in their responses we couldn't help feeling that maybe they were patronizing or placating us.
The food itself tasted different this time. I'm suspecting that maybe they got a new cook or something. The poppers and the popcorn chicken, they tasted like they were made like a hot dog. with the bones or cartilage bits in the chicken or combined to form a nugget. it tasted weird. almost like it was made from chicken that was left out for way too long and just used in the batter.
My friends Burger was not nearly the same 20 oz that he got last time. The thing looked like it was cut into two and the other piece was used in someone else's Burger.
again, dont give me a thimbel sized cup of ketchup for a huge pile of fries and then charge be halve a buck to get another cup. it was ok since they waived the fee this time.
All in all I don't think I'm going to be coming here again anytime soon at least not for the food. maybe for the bar, it's the only unique thing about the kosher joint.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
went in here with my buddy. i had poppers and the davry burger with a side of fries. let me tell u somethng, for a kosher Establishment, a 20oz burger is insane!! i could barely get home i was so stuffed. the food was very good. the fries were just the right texture and flavor. not hard and crispy. really home made authentic stuff. the ranch sauce really brought out the poppers. the place was so busy, most of the tables were on reservation.
despite this, the staff was very pleasant and friendly. will gladly come back again and refer my friends.
only gripe i have is the 3 dollar snapples and the complementary nacho dipping sauce vegetable thing in the super tiny saucer. thats not a dip and thats a not a...
Read moreFirst, Ronen greeted us with a smile and a joke. That was exactly what we needed after being stranded in NYC when our connecting flight was abruptly canceled (after having already traveled 15 hours). The last time I was in NYC I remember having the choice of going to kosher sports bars in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the 5Ts. Sadly, post-Covid, there’s only one left and that’s Davry so we had to check it out. It has the feel of a dive bar while still being immaculately clean and spotless. More than enough TV’s to cover all the sports and provide good views from each table.
The food was fresh, delicious, and arrived quickly. We had the Davry burger, which was basically 3 burgers in 1; poppers with all the dipping sauces; crispy chicken sandwich, which you know had to be good because there were so many mouthwatering meat options that we passed over for it; fried Oreos, always a classic; an Electric Long Island, super fun drink; and a separate order of fries for the table even though we already had fries as a side. Davry’s fries are HANDMADE - meaning not only are they delicious fresh, but even when you reheat them at home they still taste good! Rarely do I take leftover fries to-go but I wanted to make them last as long as possible.
Lastly, bonus points to the entire staff for being so professional and understanding when my toddler accidentally knocked over a glass that shattered. Thanks for a...
Read moreI'm deeply disturbed and appalled by my experience this past Saturday night. I've frequented this sports bar/restaurant since their grand opening and have spent a lot of money there on each occasion, but this past Saturday night was an exception. I arrived at the bar with a group of friends and we were told the tables were reserved, which was perfectly reasonable and fine with me. After a few minutes of discussing where we should go next, a group of women walked in who were extremely well dressed and very attractive. The host asked them the same question he asked us, which was: "Did you reserve a table?" They answered the same answer as the males and females in our group, which was "no." I don't believe it was coincidental that a group of only very well dressed, attractive females were given the royal treatment and seated at the, supposedly reserved tables, when were told "sorry the tables are reserved." We were dressed casual and not very fancy, and we were a mixed group that weren't as modelesque as the latter group. It was a very objectifying feeling and hurtful. Even the group that showed up was defending us. I hope they change their ways so that I can look at them the...
