John Hair Salon — Local services in New York

The first time i came here for a blow out, the gentleman who did my hair didn’t do it good and my hair was left puffy at the top. i decided to give them another shot since it’s my birthday and my sister recommended i call and make an appointment with john. So i called and made an appointment with john and was told to he was available at 12pm. When i got there they washed my hair and i sat and waited thinking i was waiting for john, but instead the gentleman who did my hair the first time started doing my hair. when i told them that i wanted john to do my hair, i was told by john “no he does it better then me” and “i have other people to do” as well as a towel getting thrown on the floor out of anger. so i sat and waited for john and when he eventually got to me (30 mins after my appointment) he was being extremely rude and told me to “get off my phone so i can finish this”. as i paid and said “thank you” i was completely ignored. i’ve never had such a horrible experience in any hair salon ever. this was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. if your planning on calling and making an appointment with john, be sure to triple check that HE will be doing your hair and that he’s actually available. i’m still not sure why i was told that he’s available when he “had other people to do”. if they simply told me when i was making an appointment that he wasn’t available then i would have went to a...

Worst experience ever. I started crying after I left the salon. Stylist I was assigned was Avi. He started by suggesting that I don't need to wash my hair for a blow-dry as it is still clean. I told him that I would still like to wash. The wash left a lot to be desired. My hair was not cleaned properly and the lady seemed to be cleaning a clogged sink while my hair was in it which is quite gross. When Avi started on my hair he was soo aggressive, kept pulling on it and burning my scalp. I asked him to blow dry the short hairs that frame my face to which he replied that he will have to burn me if I want them straightened because they are so short. He was even aggressive just brushing my hair. I left the salon in pain from all the pulling and burning and had a headache for the remainder of the day. Will not...

This is about the pmu artist kate that they have there at the salon. I did my lip blush and paid 450$ for this service and i wanted to book with her for a touch up which is half the original price. However, she wouldn't reply to me, she also reads my messages and does not reply. Just because she saw on instagram that i have a different political opinion than hers.. How stupid? And how unethical of her not to complete the service for her customer. Beware of booking any service with her she is unreliable and might just disappear. I will do my touch up at a better...
