Came for brunch last Saturday. Seating is limited. Place is decorated nice and staff is nice. Didn’t take too long for someone to come and take our order. The issue is the wait time. The place seems like it’s family owned which is great but they definitely need a bit more help. My drinks took over 20 minutes to come. I didn’t like the guava they used In the mimosa and all the flavor basically sank to the bottom. When you took a sip all you got was warm flavoring. Had to keep stirring to mix everything together. Honestly wasn’t too crazy about the drinks. My friend wanted her drinks on the wire stand so they had to wait till another table finished using theirs so she can have one for her drinks. Her drinks didn’t come out till after she was almost done with her food, which took a long time in itself. When she did get the drinks, it tasted as though she got vodka instead of the champagne for her mimosa…which she didn’t mind much. We were starving by time the food came. My salmon burger was tasty. The fries needed some salt, which I asked for, and was a bit greasy. My food came out way before my friend because after waiting over 30 minutes for her chicken and pina colada waffles, they told her that the waffle machine stopped working. So she had to get French toast which tasted like regular French toast with chicken. Guessing to make up for it they made her drink with vodka *shrugs*. Overall I feel like this place have potential but do need work when it comes to wait time for food and the staff shortage. Also more drink options for brunch, a good heavy duty waffle maker and letting the oil from the fries drip for a bit before platting. Then again I guess it was just the time we go there because the waitress was by herself and she did the best she could. Right before we left, two other people came and a few other tables filled up. Their food and drinks came out pretty quickly so I’m guessing the shortage earlier on was the problem.

My husband and I were on our way to a different restaurant when we drove by this establishment. I’m Guyanese and when I saw the Guyanese flag outside I convinced him that we should eat here instead. But that was my mistake, I so wanted to support this restaurant and keep returning but that will never happen again. For starters we went a little after 11 PM after leaving an event and maybe that was our mistake because the crowd they attract at that time of night was rowdy and loud. When it was our turn to order I asked the waitress for her drink recommendations and she just shrugged her shoulders and said it’s whatever you guys want. When the drinks arrived they were definitely not worth the $18 we paid for them. They came in small cups with ice, after 2 sips my husband’s drink was gone. Then we waited a while for our food and when it came my husband’s meal consisted of exactly 2 pieces of oxtail drowning in gravy, a bed of white rice and a small salad. I ordered the lobster chowmein and got a small portion of chowmein, half of a lobster tail and a small salad. These meals were $32 each and considering the portions it was definitely not worth it. Then they tacked on a 20% tip to our bill which was just insulting. And let me not get started on how dirty the bathroom was. There’s literally toilet paper stuffed into the holes of the bathroom to prevent you from being exposed to whole restaurant. And remember that rowdy crowd I mentioned before? I barely got in the bathroom before 3 girls banged on the door. When I had just finished up and was washing my hands they banged again, kicked and yelled for whoever was in the bathroom to hurry up. I hope that $130 we spent lasts because I will never step foot in this establishment again and I will make sure all my family and friends know never to go here. Stingy and greedy should be the new name for this place. I’ll stick to my small mom and pop Guyanese restaurants cause this one ain’t it.

This was one of the worst experiences I ever had in a restaurant! I found this location after searching for a late night meal. Advertised as an Authentic Guyanese restaurant I was left VERY DISAPPOINTED. The menu is misleading, the customer service is atrocious and the quality of food is disheartening. I waited over an hour for my take out order..1 Veggie GT Curry, 1 Veggie Chowmein, 1 side of plantain. •The Veggie GT Curry, advertised with ā€œSeasonal Vegetables and creamy coconut sauceā€ led me to expect a variety of fresh produce (Channa, Edo, Casava, Okra, spinach, bell peppers, bora…etc) and a delicious sauce. However it was far from what was promised. The curry only consisted of halved red potatoes in a sparse amount of thin watery curry sauce. •The Veggie Chowmein, advertised being tossed in a savory sauce. The meal showed no signs of casreep or browning being used. The noodles were not the authentic kind Guyanese are accustomed to (Lams, Champion..etc) it almost resembled spaghetti. •Lastly the side of plantain could not even give us a sense of relief. Sliced into fries and deep fried this was not the expectation. To make this experience worse. The staff at Blue Fin, deliberately and consistently told my sister and I after voicing our opinions, that Guyanese Curry does not include other vegetables other than potatoes. As we both grew up in Guyanese households we were very dissatisfied with the quality and representation of our culture. The staff never offered to accommodate us with a different meal or to give us our money back. We had to ask for a full refund and were met with repeated arguments that attempted to discredit our opinion on the authenticity of Guyanese cuisine. If I could recommend this to anyone looking to go to this restaurant for Authentic Guyanese food, save your energy and money.

I went here in February 28th with my friends for one of their birthdays. From the beginning we noticed something was off with owner and waiter/host/cook whatever decided to stay. For some reason certain items were unavailable on a Friday, I ordered seafood egg rolls, one waitress said they didn’t have it (I don’t eat red meat or pork) . The drinks tasted like kool aid, the birthday girl ordered a tropical sunrise, someone else ordered a rum punch, and I ordered a strawberry lemon drop and all three drinks tasted like kool aid and the same. They also didn’t have frozen drinks. Most of us showed up at 8 and they took really long to come take our order for just drinks, which was around 9:15pm, Then I asked one of the waitresses if I could order chicken wings for the appetizer as a replacement or not having seafood egg rolls or the lobster Mac and cheese, she said she had to find out (mind you it’s now 9:30pm) but it’s now 10:15pm a whole other waitress come and now take our actual food order and guess what I didn’t get no answer if they had chicken wings, however the other waitress that took my order said the had the seafood egg rolls. Once they began to bring out everyone’s ordered and not at once of course and the orders were mixed up and the birthday girl asked to change her order and they still brung out the wrong order along with what she actually changed her order from, Hold on she had a pen and pad in her hand while taking the orders; the owner was approached about it from the waiter however she just put the food on the table with and attitude and walked off (unprofessional). 11:08pm 2 of us still waiting for our food however 4 people have their food before us and almost finished that’s sitting with us. Now it’s 11:10pm someone else just got the dinner and mind you I’m now waiting still………….ok it’s 11:20pm my friends say where your food and the girl next to me says they not preparing nothing and they washing dishes so I asked the waitress as she walked over saying can i take these from you and I say well i still haven’t received my food and I order shrimp and chicken fried rice; she’s like oh shi* (excuse me what, then she goes to the kitchen 5 mins later I noticed she’s putting in an order, I asked was it my order and she replied no my food should be out momentarily………..also It’s now 11:28pm no food. Wait I see the chef out and have a conversation with the owner, whatever she said must have upset him because he had a ziplock bag with chicken and flour in it, not him being pissed and launching that bag into the kitchen. Then I asked her again did they start making my food yet and she said yes because with an attitude like that I don’t want him making my food. It’s 11:45pm my food come out but along with a to go plate. I put my food in the bowl but what I couldn’t fit, I ate the little bit off my plate. Now I will say this the food is good and everyone else at the table said the same BUT that experience wasn’t worth it especially at those prices. Finale ending the bill comes and it’s $451 but how; my food was voided from the beginning because it came out late and last but the birthday girl her food they didn’t want to take off even tho they messed up with not correcting what she replaced her original order for, because it was her birthday they did do shots for her on the house. I have noticed through out the night other people taking food back and they messing up other orders. Honestly I would never go again or recommend. During the wait time we see the host/server/cook bring things in the middle of the party from somewhere to the kitchen. They are nice people but they need to reevaluate how they conduct and showcase their business. It's sometimes the little things that matter the most. Accommodations shouldn't have to happen if you get it right the first time. I wish them nothing...
