After you read this, pull up beloveds!
Let me start with I'm from Boston. This 🍕pizza shop is in Brooklyn, NY. I was in NY for a play. This is my second time to this shop. On my first time trip, I bought home 4 slices of pizza because my fiance and kids said they weren't going to eat cold pizza (like it couldn't be reheated). Let's just say lesson learned. You try cutting 1 NY slice into 4 to serve 4 people and then have to do the same with the remaining 3 because they are wild.
The first time, we went early, there was no line, and they had majority of all slices offered on their menu. Both cases were full. Keep in mind they offer not only slices, but oxtail beef patties, desserts, and bevs ( all that's for another time though).
My second time around (fiance is with me), we arrived at 845 pm and the line was half to the end of the block and wrapped around the shop. Don't let that discourage you though. Be patient. Once inside, the staff are taking orders, passing boxes, and moving right along.
Again, coming from Boston and after seeing a play. Bringing a new customer and determined to bring home enough for my fam of 4. You get to order, and boom we can only sell you what's in the case. They are only using 1 case to display a few pizzas. So, you make due. You have the taste for a few things you had before and ask staff if they will be making more. They reply, "We can only sell you what's in the case or coming out no." Then says, "We aren't making that right now." (Please don't let this deter you from trying the experience of your life).
Cool baby gotcha, tell the new customer that they don't have anything they want and aren't making it. Do you want to try anything else? Nah, I'm cool. (She was ordering for her family of 3 and couldn't be selfish and bring just herself slices home). New Customer lost! (Again, don't let this deter YOU).
I ordered $105.00 usd worth of slices. Guess what... we got home and I still had to split the slices by 2 or 3. Also, because lost customer didn't get anything and we wanted her to try something we sent a few slivers back home to her. She enjoyed them!
I still say, pull up beloved.
Their specialty pizzas are completely worth the wait and travel.

I FINALLY made it to Cuts & Slices. I arrived when it opened because who has time for lines?
I'm not a big fan of oxtails. While they are tasty, they are usually just too fatty for me.
I had my eyes (and stomach) set on The Chopped Cheese and the BBQ Salmon. One of the nice female workers suggested the Chicken Alfredo slice and I also was able to try the Sweet Chili Oxtail.
My least favorite was the Chicken Alfredo. The truffle flavor came through nicely but I don't really like Alfredo Sauce unless I make it from scratch. Not saying this place does or doesn't but it didn't taste homemade to me. Tastes are always subjective. I took a bite and the rest ended in the rubbish bin. #blasphemy
Position #3 was the Chili Oxtail. Great flavor, just TOO FATTY for me. I think when the oxtail is being shredded etc, possibly remove some of the fat pieces. Hear me out, ya'll maybe thinking "GTFOH and Da fuq she thinkin'!" I know it's a statement. You already got the fat from the cheese and oxtail meats and juices. I'm not interested in eating a whole slice of oxtail gristle. The flavor was good but I couldn't eat it. Rubbish bin resident. #blasphemy
Position #2: The BBQ Salmon. Oh my goodness. The right amount of spiciness, sweet and Salmon. I ate this over a 2 day period. By Day 2, the rest of the slice got spicier. It's a slow burn. It won't smack you in the taste buds. It creeps up on you like one of those nice memories of a love that you no longer experience...well only for that moment and when the last bite is taken; the memory is gone...JUST LIKE THAT SLICE.
Position 1: Chopped Cheese. Keep reading... I've never had a regular Chopped Cheese from the infamous CC place in East Harlem or anywhere in the Bronx. Side note: Let the Bronx folks chime in they gonna let you know the only Chopped Cheese and best Chopped cheese is in and from Da B-X...I digress.
The slice is beef and cheddar cheese. Thank you because I LOATHE American Cheese and some tomatoes. They give you a spicy ketchup and a Siracha mayo (?). Whatever it was, it was tasty. I poured a,little of each on that slice and went to town. Great flavors.
Overall, I am glad I tried the 4 slices I did because when I return, I will have my nostalgic lover and the Chopped Cheese slice. At this point, I may never actually try a propet Chopped Cheese because it may disappoint me. 🤣
Pull up beloved. It's a great place to experience pizza with...
Read moreI want you to realize just how amazing this place is, so my dramatics are completely necessary, ok? So bare with me. Ok, so my friend hit me up on TikTok and was like, “you gotta try this place! They’re black owned and they have oxtail pizza!” I was like, “wait, what??” As if black owned wasn’t enough for me to go try it, it’s the fact that he said unto me, “they have oxtail pizza”! I have never in my life!! Like, can you even?? Oxtail pizza is GENIUS and I needed to partake in this black excellence! So I think it was no more than 2 days after my friend recommended this place, I was my makin my way downtown, walkin’ fast, faces pass, and I was Cuts and Slices bound, ok? So I pulled up, to find this hip, late 80’s, early 90’s-esque type of setting. The decor was LIVE, hear?! I’m talking Jafar from Aladdin, Chucky from Child’s Play, an arcade game, skateboards and lots more! It is picture-worthy for sure! The music was bumpin’ and the pizza was spinnin’ girl! I was so.ready. Ok, so I clearly knew what I wanted, but seeing that they had so many other cool pizza flavors, I at least wanted to try 2 different slices. I saw that they have this shrimp and lobster Alfredo pizza with black truffle, so I decided on that as my second choice and girl, let me just say, I am sooooo glad I did. This pizza was giving layers and depths of flavors. It truly did taste like alfredo sauce and that black truffle just took it to another level! There was meaty, succulent clumps of lobster on it, as well as plenty of shrimp! They ain’t skimp on the shrimp, hear me?! It was exceptional! Ok, second slice (thee slice I came for), was the brown stew oxtail slice. Girl…………….I just can’t. I couldn’t. I could not. Like, who do they even think they are making a pizza like this?! I felt so disrespected in the best way and I welcome more of it! This pizza had me in my feelings. I needed Jazmine Sullivan to encourage me to pick them up! That oxtail was melt in ya mouf TENDER, ok? It was juicy, moist, succulent and FLAVORFUL! The right amount of fat content added all the richness it needed. I was on a park bench savoring and nursing this pizza down to the last bite. I’m really not sure that I deserved it smh. Listen, if you love oxtail and you love pizza, then you should already be on your way to Cuts and Slices in Bedstuy, Brooklyn. Go buy black, and get you some incredible, well thought out pizza in...
