Rear Admiral Mark Singleton Highly decorated veteran of WW 2 as a famous North Atlantic German U-boat sub-Hunter, sinking 3 and disabling 2 others, assisting in numerous Atlantic convoy crossings and key in implementing the “MAD” (magnetic anomaly detector) technique of sub-hunting. After the war, Admiral Singleton settled in Brooklyn, and opened a local drinking establishment, offering a comforting place for sailors and seamen to regale in the tales of naval warfare and voyages. Notorious for New Year’s Eve party’s where the entire community would join in celebrations of a festive year ahead, topped off with the “Boat Job” drink which consists of a shot of Singleton scotch and soda. Admiral Singleton’s photograph is framed magnanimously behind the bar, paying tribute to his character and stature.

Cool dive bar. They have some good combo specials but even without that the prices are very good. The place is a good size. They have three pinball machines and a ping pong table. The bartender was nice. It is a very laid back atmosphere. I recommend stopping in for some đŸ» and drinks if you're in the neighborhood.

Stopped by here last night with a few friends. Definitely a neighborhood dive bar, $15 minimum on cards and a short menu of selections for shot/beer combos. They have a few arcade games in the front and then a pool/ping pong table in the back. Overall decent regular bar to go hang out.

If you're like me, sometimes you find yourself walking around Brooklyn Wednesday morning at 2AM wondering where a fella can find a drink. Well, look no further. (From my 2 am experience) it was a fun, small bar. Good drinks, friendly staff. They say any port in a storm, I say go to Boat in the morn.

Update Went on a Saturday Night. It was pretty busy and the bartender was taking no nonsense. It is advised you read the signs, as the bartender is busy and doesn't want to waste time. Note: while the bartender was very strict and no-nonsense, she was very skilled and very good at her job, whether or not you find shortness to be a demerit is on you. I ordered a long island iced tea, which I was warned would be $25. I went for it, and it was one of the best I'd ever had. So still 5 stars, fun place, water's at the end of the bar, $15 minimum on cards, and read the signs...

female bartender (white, black hair, glasses wearing a ‘thank god for abortion’ shirt, didn’t catch her name) was rude as hell when the bar wasn’t even busy (at 1am)

gave friend A attitude bc all he ordered was soda. shortly after friend B ordered white claws. told friend C not to be rude (friend C interrupted bc she was trying to pay for friend B). then bartender slammed the white claws down on the counter, splashing the drinks on their hair, and aggressively screamed the price at my friend so loud that i was across the bar and still heard her over the music. i was observing up to this point. i told her she was being rude and she told me maybe we shouldn’t be at the bar and took the whiteclaws back.

we left after finishing the margs that tasted like acid.

will...
