(For context - I'm a black woman in her mid 20s) Great selection and the majority of the employees are super sweet, but I was 100% racially profiled while in the store a few days ago. I was looking for a cocktail dress to wear to the closing party of a Broadway show, and had about 4 dresses in my hands while scanning the rack. I had my headphones on because I wasn't really in the mood to chat with anyone, but an employee came over to me and basically yelled "hello" at me to get my attention. She asked if I needed to start a fitting room, which I did, and she took the dresses that I was holding to hang up. I thought she was beginning a room for me, but instead, she hung them on a rack near where she was organizing items by the fitting room. As I continued to look for other options, she came over a SECOND time in the span of less than 10 minutes while I had only 2 dresses in my hands and asked me if I wanted to add those to my other pile. At this point, I could tell what was going on, and I started to get annoyed, as I had not seen her do this to anyone else while I was shopping. This made it apparent to me that I was being watched and that the employee assumed I was going to potentially steal. I put the dress I thought about wearing on hold, but did not bother to return to pick it up because I was upset. As a former retail employee, I know the tactics we are taught when we have probable cause that someone is shoplifting, but I was shopping just like everyone else. I was incredibly embarrassed and uncomfortable. Please have a chat with your sales associates about their biases. I'd like to come back in the future because the other associates, including the one I talked to at the counter, were very sweet, but I'm worried I'll be followed around the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently visited Unearth Vintage and was thoroughly impressed by their collection. This store is truly a gem for anyone looking to find unique, high-quality pieces without the predictable selections and steep prices typical of other shops.
Each item at Unearth Vintage is selected with care, offering shoppers a variety of one-of-a-kind products that you wonāt find anywhere else. From vintage clothing to rare home decor, the diversity and uniqueness of their inventory can turn any casual shopper into a collector.
What I appreciated most was the pricing. Everything is marked fairly, which makes exploring their collection even more enjoyable. You can tell that the folks at Unearth Vintage are passionate about bringing value to their customers, balancing quality with cost effectively.
The materials of the items are top-notch as well; whether itās a rugged leather jacket or a silk blouse, everything is made to last. Itās evident that they prioritize durability and style in equal measure.
Service at Unearth Vintage is just as remarkable. The staff is genuinely friendly and well-informed. They create a welcoming atmosphere that complements the cool, laid-back vibe of the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was excited to come here because itās close to where I work but both times Iāve come in Iāve come off my barista job and my clothes are a lil stained/my hair isnāt the cutest so the workers made snap judgements and Iām the only person they follow around the store the entire time Iām there. The second time it happened I was like okay I get it, local blue collar workers arenāt welcome here ): I otherwise loved the variety of sizes (!!) and got quality scores. Itās cool you have a bunch of vintage costumes around Halloween! Just wish you didnāt creepily stare and follow me around, I felt uncomfortable, rushed to leave and weirdly guilty for no reason š
Edit: I took down a star from this response. Iāve worked in retail, I know this āattentivenessā tactic the owner is talking about is actually for loss prevention. They assumed I looked like someone whoād steal, so I was the only one they followed around. The owner is white btw. Iām white, but Iām wondering if they treated me this way, how do they treat black and brown customers when theyāre so ready to profile for loss prevention? Would love to hear other...
