My wife is pregnant and had a serious craving for something refreshing and flavorful. We heard about Bowl Bites and decided to give it a try… expecting a solid jerk chicken bowl and their “famous” fresh lime wash. What we got instead was a complete disaster that honestly left us sick to our stomachs, both literally and figuratively.

Let’s start with the service or total lack of it. The person behind the counter, Kevin, is glued to his phone texting instead of paying attention to the customers in front of him, it’s just unacceptable. He barely acknowledged us, looked annoyed when we asked questions, and acted like we were interrupting his personal time. Completely unprofessional.

Then came the drinks. My wife was SO excited for their lime wash, which she’d heard was light and refreshing……perfect for a pregnancy craving. But what she got was straight-up sugar water with a nasty chemical taste. It was warm, flat, and honestly disgusting. She took one sip and pushed it away. It didn’t taste fresh at all as they claim it to be fresh. More like it had been sitting in the dispenser since grand opening day.

I ordered the jerk chicken bowl. I expected bold flavors, heat, and good portions. What I got was a few tiny, dry pieces of meat that barely resembled chicken. The rice was soggy, the vegetables were flavorless, and the whole thing tasted like it had been reheated multiple times. It was a sad excuse for a “jerk bowl” …. there was no spice, no seasoning, and no care put into it.

My wife ordered the shrimp bowl and was shocked to find FOUR tiny shrimp in the entire bowl. For the price they charge, this felt like a joke. And worse…. the shrimp tasted spoiled. She couldn’t eat it. The smell and taste were off, and that’s the last thing a pregnant woman needs. Everything felt contaminated and old, like it had been sitting out or poorly stored.

And let’s talk about the prices. This place is massively overpriced for what you get. We spent a decent amount of money expecting fresh, flavorful, healthy food and we left with trash we couldn’t even eat. The food was garbage, the drink was undrinkable, and the portions were pathetic.

We were genuinely excited to try Bowl Bites….. but it turned out to be one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had at any food spot. Unprofessional service, spoiled food, gross drinks, and outrageous prices. Never again. Save your money, your stomach, and your time and go literally...

Bowl Bites is an absolute joke of a restaurant, and I give it less than a year before it shuts down for good. The food? Garbage. The drinks? Disgusting. The service? Completely useless. And the prices? Outrageously high for what they’re serving. It’s clear this place is desperately trying to survive off hype alone because there’s nothing here worth coming back for.

The only reason people are even talking about this place is because the owner seems to know a bunch of people in the community, which explains the fake 4- and 5-star reviews. Don’t fall for it. The positive reviews are pure nonsense, probably written by their own people just to trick customers into showing up.

What pisses me off the most is how overpriced everything is. Other similar spots charge way less for way better food, so I’ll be sticking with them. If you’re even thinking about trying this place, do yourself a favor—read the 1-, 2-, and even 3-star reviews first. You’ll thank me for saving you the time, money, and...

This is my third time going to bowl bites and the food is absolutely delicious and full of flavor. The first time I went, I was helped by one of the owners, Amir. He was very professional, friendly, and took great care of us. The second time, I was helped by a female who was also good. However, the third time going I was helped by another worker who was very quiet, could hardly hear him even his co-worker said to speak up but not a big problem. The issue was he barely gave any food. He put some rice in the bowl and then took it back out, he put chicken in the bowl and then took some out again, he skimped on the queso, toppings, etc. It looks bad that he’s putting food and then taking it back out. The food is pricy so should really get what you’re paying for. My bowl was pretty empty unfortunately. Again, my first two experiences were great, unsure if the worker from my last...

Bowl Bites is the newest gem in Ozone Park, and I’m so proud to say it’s West Indian-owned! From the moment you walk in, you can tell they’re all about fresh ingredients and bold flavors. Their menu is stacked with delicious bowl options, and everything is 100% Halal. I tried the shrimp and jerk bowls, and both were packed with flavor—the perfect balance of spice, seasoning, and freshness. The portions are generous, and you can tell a lot of care goes into each dish. And let’s talk about the drinks! If you haven’t had a classic Guyanese lime wash, you’re missing out! The passion fruit juice was also super refreshing and made fresh in-house. Beyond the amazing food, I love that this spot is run by young Caribbean entrepreneurs bringing something new to the neighborhood. If you’re in the area (or even if you’re not!), make sure to stop by and support. You won’t be disappointed!

Basically a healthier version to Chipotle, if you love a healthy bowl of food with lots of flavors then this is your to go spot but with a bigger portion. There's a lot of different toppings & also sauces that you can add to your bowl to give it that flavor you're going for. Aside from bowls they also do wraps, highly recommend trying both. Attached you'll see a video with what I had ordered along with the sauces. If you love flavor, you should order the yellow rice, the jerk chicken is a must as well. My second favorite thing about this place is that they have a fresh juice bar! Freshly made juices from fruits & veggies. Attached you'll see I got a fresh squeezed orange juice. The staff were friendly & helpful. The place inside is clean & welcoming. You can dine in or take out. It's about the same price as Chipotle or maybe 1-2$ more. P.S. They also have acai bowls

If you haven’t been here already, what are you waiting for? Stop wasting your money on big chains like Chipotle and come get, FRESH & AUTHENTIC bowls from your local people as well. From management to the workers to the food to the drinks to the vibe, they definitely captured it all here. And it’s halal??? 💯 huge shoutout to Mike and Amir and the other management team members for building this place. It’s easily accessible for everyone and again, they don’t miss with the quality of food, especially for my Caribbean people! **went 3 times already and didn’t save pics of the food, will update this review when I go back**
