I've been a loyal customer to this restaurant for about 2 years because the food is usually good. Even when they are super late with delivery and not the best attitude when being served when I am in the restaurant. Of lately the portions have been getting smaller, the oxtail watery, soaky roti and the attitude of the employees is getting to its worst. I actually ordered in the other day and it took over an hour and half, then to open the food and it is the wrong dish ( goat instead of chicken). We call back and they say the guy will be right back with the right order, and hour and half later. I live 10 minutes away.
Not to forget the time before I called and they left me on hold for 15 mins while I hear all their conversations. I hang up and call back but the line is still busy for an hour, why? Because they left the phone off the hook.
I would stay away from this place moving forward, until the manager or owner does a better job with the customer service. The last few times the women at the counter have been arguing with one another and have the "stank" attitude. Stay away , not worth...
Read moreIv been going to this place since I was in high school, which is right around the corner-Bishop Loughlin. Their patties were ALWAYS a 10/10 and after visiting twice in 1 month It's still a solid 10/10. This time I ordered the chicken roti, chicken rasta pasta, plantains, 1 jerk patty and 1 beef patty with coco bread. There coco bread is truley DELICIOUS!!! It's not the regular dense and filling bread, it's light, airy and very tasty. The jerk patty was also 10/10. The chicken rasta pasta was very disappointing, there was no spice, no seasoning in the sauce, nothing. It was just a basic and bland Alfredo sauce with green peppers and carrots thrown in. I would never order that again. The chicken roti skin is 100/10 delicious, but the chicken and potatoes inside the roti is mushy and way overcooked. The chicken is okay, but tasted better the first time I ordered it weeks ago. The plantains weren't sweet at all but they were very good and fried to perfection. The sorrel drink was very good and the customer...
Read moreI haven't had as good a beef patty since they closed the Mom & Pop shop I used to go to on Boston Post Rd. in the Bronx back in the late 90s. It's been a long time my little beef patty/coca bread. C'mere you!
I also really enjoyed the counter staff. So refreshing to not encounter the lackadaisical service you get at every Golden Krust I've ever stepped foot into. Like they're doing you a favor by giving you a blank stare. I was short on hard currency and was happily told that they take cards even for my small amount. So happy, I padded my order out with an additional patty and their own Buff Patty brand of Sorrel.
It was my first time drinking sorrel juice. I basically got it for the ginger, which was nice. The sorrel.... Nope. Not for me. Halfway through it was starting to taste like medicine and make me sweat. Maybe that was it working on me!
It's a narrow shop but it's organized and quick with a small seating area in the front. And did I mention friendly??? I will make a point...
