If you’re reading this and you haven’t been here—you’re sleeping on Mint Heights. I usually order takeout from their website and have had only excellent experiences. The food is always ready fast and hot. Only once, a side of rice was forgotten, and I just gave them a quick call and they delivered it within minutes. I was astounded by their incredible customer service. Truly this is a gem in the neighborhood - delicious food, friendly staff, and good prices. Their lunch special is a great deal too, dine-in and takeout.
I’ve seen a few reviews saying their food is “too sweet.” I don’t totally agree. Some dishes you can tell it is seasoned with an apricot or a cherry, which can lend to a sweeter flavor, and some of the dishes are creamy. However, there are many other elements your palate can pick up on like herbs and spices. It’s wonderful. Idk I just see these reviews and I’m like, what do you expect? You’re eating out at a restaurant - the food might be rich, and thank goodness for that.
It makes me sad to see people don’t dine-in very much at this restaurant. Or maybe I just go at off-peak times… either way: don’t sleep on Mint...
Read morePEOPLE. I cannot say enough good things about Mint Heights! Three of us dined in last night and had a really wonderful meal. All the food was GREAT - Samosas made in house and deliciously seasoned with caraway, Dal Makhani, Malai Kofta, Lamb Vindaloo and Paneer Tikka Masala all superb. Generous portions of rice, Mango Lassi a hit with the 13 year old. We enjoyed a LOT of food and still took tons home.
Everything was beautifully fresh, spices were adjusted to our requests. Sauces and seasonings all had the flavors you only get from skilled chefs; even the tamarind and cilantro sauces that came with the fresh, crisp pappadums were well above the average.
And the bread! We ordered the basket to have a chance to sample, and everything was fresh, hot delicious and perfectly fluffy (or stuffed).
This is the sister restaurant to Curry Heights on Henry St, and the ratings over there are a good assessment of what’s on offer here. Mint Heights is a serious upgrade to Indian options in the neighborhood. Bring your own beer or wine for now to dine in, or delivery is up...
Read moreMy husband and I found this really cute spot in the neighborhood that serves Indian cuisine, so we decided to try it out with our friends. We were a group of 10 with 2 babies, and the waiter and waitress was super patient with us as we were waiting for guests to arrive. The appetizers were delicious. I recommend trying Samosas, Sweet and Spicy Cauliflower, and Chicken Malai as I hear it is customers favorite. For main course I tried the Chicken Bryani, Chicken Masala and Vindaloo Chicken (Extremely Spicy, just how i love my food). The food did not disappoint. We topped off dinner with some amazing tasty chai. The team at Mint Heights were extremely patient and pleasant with us, and very accommodating even tho we had a baby throwing food everywhere. Usually people get upset or mad, but the team at Mint Heights understood the difficulty of dining in with a toddler. I would definitely come back again to try their food, and to experience the good hospitality provided...
