I live in the neighborhood and have been a frequent customer at this place. However, from now on, I will not spend a dime there. The woman (feels like south Asian) at the cashier was extremely rude to me. I bought a box of tomatoes for 50 cents because I am leaving for vacation tomorrow and wanted nothing else. Since this place has a minimum charge for Apple Pay, I brought my coin purse and counted out the coins. She asked me to step aside, which I did, and I didnāt block any customers. After I finished my counts, she asked me to organize it nicely, which I also did. However, the whole experience she has been very rude and said things like, āI have other customers,ā āI donāt have an hour for you,ā I argue that these are the coins I have since you have a minimum charge for credit card, and she was like and āI donāt do card for 50 cents.ā Ok fine, you donāt want my coins, you donāt do credit card, but I want nothing else. So whatās the solution? I feel that I was discriminated against because I only bought 50 cents' worth. I went back and asked to speak to the manager, and made a scene. Though the manager apologized, the woman still didnāt apologize for her nasty attitude. She is probably the rudest person Iāve ever met in this city. It was extremely unpleasant, and I wonāt go to this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs much as I love this little store and the workers there. There is one cashier that gives me this disgusting look that I don't like getting in contact with.
I have been coming to this store since it first opened. I shop here typically for fruits, veggies, and more.
Today I have purchased alcohol from here like I do every other week. The cashier (I assume she is Indian) always treats me like she is annoyed by me. Now she asked for my ID to purchase alcohol. They never asked for ID to me because I have been coming here for nearly a decade and I have showed my ID to them before. I am 31 going on 32 in May.
I don't know what her problem is but she has a unfriendly attitude towards me and I really wish it is someone else working in the front besides her. I know that there are other cashiers at Coco's but when it comes to her, I myself get annoyed.
BTW, I was skipped in line by a Jewish man to purchase his groceries and the Indian lady was all friendly and smiley toward him.
It looks like she picks and chooses who she want to cater to when it come to customers.
Ridiculous! Please replace her.
P.S. Another reviewer mention the cashier lady is "lazy and bias"....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA much needed gem for Myrtle Avenue. Open 24/7, Mr. Coco offers generally excellent fruits and vegetables at cut rate prices. Often you will find one dollar buckets of blueberries and strawberries, 3 ears of corn for a dollar, a head of romaine lettuce for a dollar. It all depends. Whatever happened to be available is what they're offering. The best prices are on the fruits and vegetables outside. Inside it's another story. Milk, butter , cheese , gourmet delicacies, crackers, cereal, bread. Unfortunately the prices for these items are not as good as the fruits and vegetables. This is not a bodega and you will not find Kellogg's cereals or Hershey bars or other brand name items. They are also not a deli and there are only a select few prepared foods. But you will find tofu, kombucha, Rau tomato sauce for $10 , Amy's canned soups for $5, and Meyers hand soap for $7.99 . They offer a very wide selection of beer and a few dry goods. Lovely, if not overly helpful, staff. EBT accepted. Oh... And did I...
