Celtic Deli — Restaurant in New York

If I could give a zero, I would. Their bacon is super old and it feels like biting on “chopped wood.” Yuck! And be careful with your teeth! I told both the deli guy and the cashier about this, and they both responded very nasty by telling me “that’s all we have” — basically “thats too bad.” I read somebody else already complained about the bacon several months ago and they still have NOT fixed this. Moreover, the deli man was chewing on something directly on top of the salad bar while touching his mouth with his gloves still on, and he didnt even change them to prepare food. Their “new staff” seems disgruntled, and hasty — like they dont want to be there — and they respond very angrily if you bring something to their attention. Also, If you want to “modify” or “substitute anything” in the sandwich menu (even if the request is reasonable) they flat out tell you “no,” or want to seriously inflate the price on top of already sky high food prices. Stay away Sunnyside! Their customer service is terrible!!! If you come hungry, you might leave “hungry” as they can really disappoint a customer to just want to leave. We dont need businesses like this! I believe these are new staff and new owners from what started there. I use to go to this place very often since they opened up 2-3 years ago, and they use to be very “nice and clean,” hence all of the other reviews, but now they are not friendly or clean, and this is NOT the first time I had a recent bad experience. JUST WOW!

I didn’t not believe what I ate it was so good I ordered a chopped cheese and I asked for avocado and it was only 9$ like in Manhattan where I live it’s like at least 12$, And staff are super nice and there is a young man working hard there I just can’t explain...

This deli is great. The food is delicious and always prepared nice & fresh. They also have an excellent selection of snacks and drinks. Above all, the customer service is excellent. Mohammad and the rest of the staff are always so welcoming and friendly....
