Charley Mom — Restaurant in New York

Been ordering from them for 20 years, as have most of my friends. I'm 11 blocks away, and the longest it has ever taken from hanging up the phone to the delivery guy arriving is 13 minutes. And usually much faster. It's insane, like they have a wok on the delivery bike. The food itself is very good, consistent, traditional Chinese, but less greasy, no MSG, and their brown rice is amazing. The steamed diet stuff is super-healthy, and the traditional stuff has very nice sauces, not too hot, not too greasy. The shrimp curry is amazing. Charley Mom steak is exceptional. I never had been to Charlie's Mom even though it's right in my neighborhood and was very pleasantly surprised with the meal that I received. It was a sufficient amount of food and was set up very nicely. I enjoyed it very much. On the plus side also is the fact that they allow you to have the lunch specials during the lunch day and later on during the day so that was a nice feature. Also, you have 2 voices as opposed to the one choice that's included inThe most lunch specials. Only thing that I could say that would be negative is that if you want to order off the lunch menu it seems like they're a little pricey, but I'm not really sure cuz I've only ordered off the the lunch menu. Extremely disappointed in this establishment! I ordered a Peking duck for my family because it is Christmas. I did not expect to be treated with such rudeness from the owners. I had ordered a whole duck which cost 60 dollars. So when I arrived back at home and saw how over cooked and tiny this duck was, immediately went back to the store. When I arrived they were very nasty to me. They told me that I should order from a different place since theirs is too small and that I shouldn’t complain!… so I’m true New York fashion, I put them in their place and demanded my refund!
